Since I got this cable, my computer will load certain games and the screen will begin to glitch out. shuffling between a working image and a solid block of whichever color is most prominently displayed.

My theory is that the games load into a resolution which is incompatible with the monitor. Is this likely the cause? how do I fix it?

I am using this cable to run from my MSI GTX-1070 display port out to the HDMI input on my LG 29UM67P Black 29" Adaptive-Sync (Free-Sync) 21:9 UltraWide monitor. It first occurred when I loaded Steep in fullscreen mode.

I'm kind of getting the same issue you are but when I start division or Destiny 2, my colors seem to be swapped with my blacks and whites and others. It's not a full fix but when this happens, I just disconnect the cable and when my monitor says not connected, I reconnect it and the games are fixed. I have the MSI GTX 1060 and this issue was also happening with my HDMI why I switched. You should also check your Nvidia control panel resolution setting. When i connected this cable, its native was 1080p, 1920 x 1080 which is not 144Hz so I changed it to 1920x1080 and this might be what you were talking about how the games load into a resolution which is incompatible.
