Question 1

ASUS ProArt PA602 Wood Edition vs PA401 Wood Edition: which case is better for a high-end PC?

Accepted Answer

Choose the PA602 Wood Edition for high-end or workstation builds that need E-ATX support, GPUs up to 440 mm, a top-mounted radiator up to 420 mm, more drive capacity, or larger CPU coolers. Choose the PA401 Wood Edition when an ATX build with a GPU up to 315 mm and a top radiator up to 240 mm is sufficient. The PA401 is substantially smaller and lighter, while the PA602 provides more expansion room and cooling capacity. Question 2

ASUS ProArt PA602 Wood Edition vs Fractal Design North XL: which should I buy?

Accepted Answer

Choose the PA602 Wood Edition when component clearance and out-of-box airflow are priorities. It supports GPUs up to 440 mm, a 420 mm top radiator, E-ATX motherboards, four 3.5-inch drive bays, and includes two 200 mm intake fans plus a 140 mm exhaust fan. Choose the North XL when you prefer a lighter case with three included 140 mm fans and do not need more than 413 mm of GPU clearance or a 420 mm front radiator. Both support E-ATX-class builds, but the PA602 offers more GPU clearance and top-radiator capacity. Question 3

Is the PA602 Wood Edition worth choosing over the standard PA602?

Accepted Answer

Choose the PA602 Wood Edition when the FSC-certified wood front panel and Modern Black styling are important to your setup. Choose the standard PA602 when you want the same core chassis platform, including 200 mm front fans, 140 mm rear exhaust, 420 mm top-radiator support, E-ATX compatibility, and up to 440 mm of GPU clearance, without prioritizing the wood finish. The main buying distinction is styling and configuration availability rather than a different cooling architecture. Question 4

ASUS ProArt PA602 Wood Edition vs Fractal Design North: which is better for a typical ATX gaming PC?

Accepted Answer

Choose the Fractal Design North for a conventional ATX gaming build when its 355 mm GPU limit, 360 mm front radiator support, and smaller 447 x 215 x 469 mm footprint are adequate. Choose the PA602 Wood Edition for oversized graphics cards, E-ATX motherboards, large tower coolers, multiple 3.5-inch drives, or a 420 mm top radiator. The North is easier to fit into a smaller workspace, while the PA602 is designed around higher component capacity and stronger out-of-box airflow. Question 5

Is the PA602 Wood Edition suitable if I want a quiet PC?

Accepted Answer

The PA602 Wood Edition can support a quiet build, but it is most suitable when you configure the included PWM fans with a custom fan curve. Professional testing found good cooling performance, while maximum fan settings produced substantially higher noise; lower fixed fan speeds reduced noise while retaining useful thermal performance. Choose it for airflow-first systems where fan tuning is acceptable, and consider a more sound-dampened case if minimum noise is the primary requirement. Question 6

Will this case fit a large graphics card?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The case is designed for long GPUs, with ASUS specifications listing up to 450 mm of GPU clearance and the product summary describing support for GPUs up to 440 mm. Actual clearance can vary if a front-mounted radiator or other accessories are installed, so compare the graphics card length with the planned cooling layout.

Question 7

Can I install a 420 mm radiator in this case?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The case supports a radiator up to 420 mm at the top, including 120 mm, 140 mm, 240 mm, 280 mm, and 360 mm configurations. Check the radiator thickness, motherboard height, RAM clearance, and tubing position before installation because those factors can affect fit.

Question 8

Does the case come with fans, or do I need to buy them separately?

Accepted Answer

Three fans are pre-installed: two 200 mm front intake fans and one 140 mm rear exhaust fan. Additional fans are optional, with support for up to three 140 mm or three 120 mm fans at the top. The included fan setup is intended to provide a usable airflow configuration without requiring immediate fan purchases.

Question 9

What motherboard sizes and CPU coolers does this case support?

Accepted Answer

It supports E-ATX motherboards up to 12 x 10.9 inches, as well as ATX, Micro-ATX, and Mini-ITX boards. The maximum CPU cooler height is 190 mm, which accommodates many large air coolers, but the cooler's exact height and motherboard layout should still be checked before purchase.

Question 10

Who is this case best suited for?

Accepted Answer

It is best suited for builders who need substantial internal space, strong airflow, support for large graphics cards, an E-ATX-compatible platform, or a top-mounted large liquid-cooling radiator. It is less suitable for compact builds or buyers who want a lightweight, space-saving chassis, because it measures 582 x 245 x 560 mm and weighs 15.8 kg before components are installed.

Question 11

Is the ASUS ProArt PA602 a good choice for a high-performance PC?

Accepted Answer

Yes, it is well suited to high-performance workstations and gaming PCs that need strong airflow, large GPU clearance, and support for up to a 420 mm top radiator. The main trade-offs are its large footprint, approximately 15.8 kg weight, and higher cost than simpler airflow cases.

Question 12

How good are the PA602's airflow and cooling with the included fans?

Accepted Answer

The included two 200 mm front fans and one 140 mm rear fan are designed for high airflow without requiring immediate fan upgrades. Reddit owners commonly describe the case as effective for powerful CPUs and GPUs, although actual temperatures still depend on the CPU cooler, GPU, workload, and room conditions.

Question 13

Is the ASUS ProArt PA602 quiet enough for a work-from-home or creator setup?

Accepted Answer

It can be quiet at normal fan speeds, but the large stock fans may produce a noticeable hum or become louder when running at high speed. The case is a better fit for users who prioritize airflow and can tune fan curves than for users seeking maximum acoustic isolation.

Question 14

Will a 420 mm AIO fit in the ASUS ProArt PA602?

Accepted Answer

The PA602 supports a top-mounted radiator up to 420 mm, but radiator-and-fan thickness varies by model. Some owners report that particularly thick 420 mm AIOs require careful installation, repositioning, or minor modification, so compatibility should be checked for the exact cooler before purchase.

Question 15

What are the main disadvantages of the ASUS ProArt PA602?

Accepted Answer

The main disadvantages are its very large and heavy chassis, potentially noticeable stock-fan noise at higher speeds, and tighter installation considerations with some oversized 420 mm radiators. It is also less suitable for compact desks or builds that do not need extensive cooling and component clearance.
