Will this product work with a Verizon FiOS receiver?

Not really sure but I would think so .When we brought ours and we have 3 of them they all went with our sciencetific boxes or receivers issued through our cable company .We did not even think to ask what receivers they work on  . Just make  sure you can return them . We had to have a repair man in to fix our cable and the repair man was the one telling us about the WIR . We ordered that night and had no problem hooking them up..Love them. Hope this helps . Call Radio Shack or your cable supplier and they should know.

Question 2

I have 2 identical Verizon set-top boxes , each with a remote, to be hidden in a closet. HDMI cables are hard wired from the boxes to the TVs. I want to be able to use the remote for each of 2 wall mounted TVs which are in different rooms. I assume that I need IR to RF converters to communicate, but how will the RF signal received in the closet be directed to the "correct" set-top box?

Unless there is a way to configure the Verizon boxes and remotes so they don't respond to the same signals (such as jumpers or dip switches) I don't think this product will do what you are looking for. It will only transmit whatever IR signals are emitted by the remote. There are other (much more expensive!) systems out there that can be programmed to do what you are looking to accomplish. One I am familiar with is the MX Genesis series from Universal Remote Control. I use the MX-900 to control my home theater equipment, and it can be programmed so that signals are only sent to specific IR Blasters, which would accomplish your goal. There are probably other products that would do this as well. Good luck.

Question 3

If I have multiple devices even if they are next to each other I assume that I would need multiple transmitters and receivers.  If I have multiple devices connected to my TV how would I configure?

Hi Jon.  The IREXT2 just repeats what it sees.  You aren't specific about what multiple devices means, but if you have a TV and a CD player next to each other, you can point the TV remote at the one IREXT2 transmitter and it will control the TV via the one IREXT2 receiver and not affect the CD player, and point the CD remote at the same IREXT2 transmitter and it will control the CD player via the same IREXT2 receiver and not affect the TV.  Basically, however your remotes work in the room is how they will work with the extenders.

Question 4

I have a cable t.v. box that I want to put in my basement.  And control the box using a remote for a t.v. located on the main floor of the house.  What do I need to do this?

You need what you are looking at. I have mine hooked up the same way that you want to. Directions are good. You may have a little trouble locating the remote pickup on the cable box. Hold your finger along the front and keep pressing the channel button on the remote until you cannot change the channel ..that will tell you where the pickup is.
