- The GE LET-75W-12V-RSL Lightech low volt transformer uses patented auto-thermal regulation (proportional dimming of the output voltage over 90C) and its self-preserving 125C thermal cut-off. Embedded Lightech technology makes the transformers run cool with a higher efficiency of 95% at full load: The electronic transformer output is automatically reduced if it accidentally overheats. Lightech electronic transformers can be dimmed by low cost TRIAC dimmers without producing any acoustic noise, which is a common problem for other transformers. Field effect transistors provide higher efficiency compared to the usual bipolar transistors. The higher efficiency results in both smaller size and longer life.
