Question 1

Does the GM ASUS| R monitor tend to overheat or throttle its brightness and color accuracy during extended heavy use?

Accepted Answer

The ASUS ROG Strix XG27ACMES is designed with effective thermal management, so it does not tend to overheat during extended heavy use. Its build includes features like a Fast IPS panel and components optimized to maintain consistent performance without throttling brightness or color accuracy, even during long gaming sessions.

That said, running HDR or very high refresh rates like 300Hz for prolonged periods may cause slight increases in temperature, but this won't typically lead to noticeable dimming or color shifts. If you use adaptive sync features like FreeSync Premium or ELMB Sync, the experience remains smooth without impacting panel stability, making it a solid choice for competitive gaming without worrying about overheating issues.

Question 2

What new features or improvements does the GM ASUS| R monitor offer compared to its previous generation?

Accepted Answer

The new ASUS ROG Strix XG27ACMES improves on previous models primarily by pushing the refresh rate to 300Hz, which is a significant boost for competitive gaming. Combined with its Fast IPS panel and 1ms response time, it offers smoother visuals and reduced motion blur compared to older versions with lower refresh rates.

Keep in mind that to fully benefit from the 300Hz refresh rate, your GPU needs to consistently output very high frame rates, especially at QHD resolution. If your system can’t keep up, the difference over a 240Hz or 165Hz panel might be less noticeable in practice.

Question 3

How does the gaming performance at 1080p of the GM ASUS| R monitor compare to the Dell S2721HGF 27-inch 1080p 165Hz gaming monitor?

Accepted Answer

The ASUS ROG Strix XG27ACMES can handle 1080p gaming smoothly thanks to its 300Hz refresh rate and 1ms response time, which far exceed the Dell S2721HGF's 165Hz. While the ASUS is designed for 1440p resolution, it will produce very fluid, low-latency gameplay at 1080p, making it great for competitive gaming where high frame rates matter most.

That said, running the ASUS at 1080p means you're not fully utilizing its native QHD resolution, so image sharpness won't be as crisp compared to gaming at 1440p. If you prioritize raw frame rate and responsiveness for esports titles, the ASUS is superior, but if you prefer native 1080p with solid 165Hz performance and sharper visuals at that resolution, the Dell remains a strong, more straightforward choice.

Question 4

What are the best practices for managing cables and ensuring proper clearance when setting up the GM ASUS| R monitor with its power supply?

Accepted Answer

The best way to manage cables and ensure proper clearance for the ASUS ROG Strix XG27ACMES is to use the available VESA mount compatibility or the built-in stand, which both provide enough space to route the power supply and video cables without crowding. Keep in mind that the USB-C, DisplayPort, and HDMI ports are located at the back, so leaving a few inches behind the monitor helps prevent cable strain and allows airflow to avoid overheating.

If you're setting up a gaming battlestation with multiple devices, consider bundling cables with Velcro straps or cable clips to keep the area tidy and reduce wear on connectors. One trade-off is that tighter cable management can limit quick access to ports, so plan your layout so you don’t have to rearrange cables frequently during use or upgrades.

Question 5

Is upgrading to the GM ASUS| R monitor from an older 1080p model worth it for better gaming performance and display quality?

Accepted Answer

If you’re moving from a 1080p monitor, the ASUS ROG Strix XG27ACMES will definitely improve your gaming experience with its sharper 2560x1440 resolution and ultra-fast 300Hz refresh rate. The clearer image and smoother motion responsiveness are especially noticeable in fast-paced competitive games.

Keep in mind, to fully benefit from this monitor’s speed and resolution, your GPU should be capable of pushing high frame rates at 1440p. Otherwise, you might not see the full advantage of the 300Hz refresh rate. Also, the USB-C and FreeSync Premium support offer great flexibility and reduced tearing if your setup supports those features.

Question 6

Does the ASUS ROG Strix XG27ACMES support AMD FreeSync technology?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the ASUS ROG Strix XG27ACMES supports AMD FreeSync Premium technology, which reduces screen tearing and stuttering for fluid gameplay.

Question 7

Accepted Answer
