Question 1

ASUS ROG Hyperion GR701 or Corsair 7000D Airflow: which case is better for a high-end water-cooled PC?

Accepted Answer

Choose the ROG Hyperion GR701 when you want a premium ROG-focused build with four included 140 mm PWM fans, two front USB-C ports, an integrated GPU holder, and support for two 420 mm radiators. Choose the Corsair 7000D Airflow when airflow-first design, larger hard-drive capacity, or broader radiator flexibility matters more; it supports up to two 420 mm radiators, one 480 mm radiator, up to 12 120 mm fans, and six 3.5-inch drives. Both are suitable for large E-ATX systems, so the decision is mainly between integrated ROG features and Corsair’s airflow, storage, and loop-layout flexibility. Question 2

ASUS ROG Hyperion GR701 or Lian Li O11D EVO XL: which is better for custom water cooling?

Accepted Answer

Choose the ROG Hyperion GR701 for a conventional high-end build that benefits from two 420 mm radiator positions, four included 140 mm fans, 460 mm GPU clearance, and a built-in GPU support bracket. Choose the Lian Li O11D EVO XL when you want a dual-chamber layout, reversible configuration, more modular fan and radiator placement, or support for up to three 420 mm radiators. The Hyperion is more turnkey for a large ROG-style build, while the O11D EVO XL gives custom-loop builders more layout flexibility. Question 3

Is the ASUS ROG Hyperion GR701 worth upgrading to from the ROG Strix Helios?

Accepted Answer

Upgrade to the ROG Hyperion GR701 if your build needs more internal room, two simultaneous 420 mm radiator positions, 460 mm graphics-card clearance, nine expansion slots, or newer front-panel connectivity including dual USB-C. Stay with the ROG Strix Helios if its mid-tower size, four included 140 mm fans, 420 mm radiator support, and built-in carry handles already meet your component requirements. The Hyperion is the more suitable upgrade for oversized GPUs, E-ATX builds, and elaborate cooling, while the Helios is easier to accommodate in a smaller workspace. Question 4

Should I buy the standard ROG Hyperion GR701 or the GR701 BTF Edition?

Accepted Answer

Choose the standard ROG Hyperion GR701 for a conventional ATX or E-ATX motherboard and standard component compatibility. Choose the GR701 BTF Edition only when you plan to use ASUS BTF hardware with rear-facing motherboard and graphics-card connectors; its main upgrade is support for the hidden-connector BTF ecosystem, while the core case size, radiator support, GPU clearance, and cooling layout remain substantially similar. Question 5

Will this case fit large components, including an E-ATX motherboard and a long graphics card?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The ASUS ROG Hyperion GR701 supports E-ATX, ATX, Micro-ATX, and Mini-ITX motherboards. It allows graphics cards up to 460 mm long, CPU coolers up to 190 mm high, power supplies up to 240 mm long, and provides nine horizontal expansion slots plus three additional vertical slots.

Question 6

Can this case handle a large liquid-cooling setup?

Accepted Answer

Yes. It supports radiators up to 420 mm at both the front and top, allowing configurations with up to two 420 mm radiators. It also supports 120 mm, 140 mm, 240 mm, 280 mm, and 360 mm radiator sizes, subject to component-clearance and installation-layout requirements.

Question 7

Does it include fans, and can I add more cooling later?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Four PWM fans are pre-installed: three 140 mm fans at the front and one 140 mm fan at the rear. The case supports additional fans at the front, top, rear, and side, and its internal hub provides six PWM fan headers and eight ARGB headers for expansion.

Question 8

Can the graphics card be mounted vertically or horizontally?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The case includes an integrated graphics card holder designed to support both horizontal and vertical GPU installations. A compatible riser cable may be required for vertical mounting, and the final fit depends on the graphics card's dimensions and thickness.

Question 9

Who is this case best suited for, and what are the main trade-offs?

Accepted Answer

It is best suited for enthusiast desktop builders using E-ATX hardware, large graphics cards, multiple radiators, or extensive fan and lighting setups. The main trade-offs are its very large full-tower footprint, approximately 20.8 kg weight, and higher space requirements compared with smaller cases. The hinged tool-free panels, 34 mm cable-routing space, storage drawer, and built-in GPU holder make installation easier, but the chassis is not designed for frequent transport.

Question 10

Is the ASUS ROG Hyperion GR701 worth buying?

Accepted Answer

It is most suitable for buyers who prioritize a premium ROG design, a very large full-tower layout, and extensive cooling support. Its trade-offs are high cost, substantial size and weight, and airflow or dust-management concerns raised by some owners. A simpler full-tower case may offer better value if appearance and ROG-specific features are not priorities.

Question 11

Is the GR701 good for high-end gaming PCs and large graphics cards?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The case is designed for high-end builds, with support for EATX motherboards, graphics cards up to 460 mm long, a built-in GPU support bracket, and up to nine expansion slots plus three vertical slots. Community builds and reviews commonly pair it with flagship GPUs, although the overall case footprint is large.

Question 12

Does the GR701 provide good airflow, or can the side fans create turbulence?

Accepted Answer

The GR701 offers substantial airflow capacity, including four pre-installed 140 mm fans and optional front, top, and side fan positions. However, the best layout depends on whether radiators are installed, and users report that side-fan placement can complicate airflow balance. A practical starting point is front intake with top and rear exhaust, then adjusting the side position based on temperatures and radiator placement.

Question 13

Is the GR701 a good choice for a 360 mm or 420 mm liquid-cooling setup?

Accepted Answer

Yes. It supports radiators up to 420 mm at both the front and top, plus a 360 mm radiator on the side. The main trade-off is planning: using multiple radiators or a thick GPU and CPU radiator can make fan direction, tube routing, and component placement more restrictive. Buyers should select the radiator locations together with the GPU and motherboard layout.

Question 14

Is the GR701 suitable for a first-time PC builder?

Accepted Answer

It can be suitable if the builder wants a spacious case and follows a detailed build plan. A step-by-step build video covers installation, cable management, cooling, and thermals. However, its large size, multiple fan and radiator options, and potentially complex airflow layout make it less straightforward than a conventional mid-tower case.
