These adapters are for networking, but if my mobo Ethernet connector was on the fritz... could this be used as a replacement adapter to hard connect to my modem and get me back online? I'm assuming it should work that way and it may be a silly question but I'm just not completely sure.

It will work as a new Ethernet adapter via the USB PORT on any device or OS that it supports. I use it for when I need two NICs on my Win 7 laptop. Just connect to network via an Ethernet patch cable. It will show up in your network adapter list.

Does this support Windows 10?

Will this device enable IP address changes?

Yes, you can set a static IP Address or or use DHCP. To set a static IP in Windows OS just go into the properties of the NIC. I hopened this was helpful and the information you were looking for.
