Does this controller work with Windows 7 without having to configure it??

I have used it without the Logitech software, but the X-input setting (for older games) seems to glitch out without drivers. On most games (Burnout Paradise, Sacred Citadel, Saint's Row: The Third) it works without special drivers. Keep in mind, that the Logitech Profiler software lets you keep multiple configs that will pre-load with the game...so it is handy to have regardless.

Question 2

Is this 64bit Windows compatible? Want to use this on a W7 x64 rig.

One of the reviewers claims it is NOT....has me worried.

Question 3

My PC has only one free USB port on the front.  If you get more than one F710, can they all use the same receiver?  Or do you need one receiver per controller?

I would think the controllers would have to be on different frequencies, so no. (Think playing with RC cars as a kid with a friend on the same frequency)

One solution is to go and buy a usb port expander, they are very cheap and can be found at most major retailers.

does it work on win 8.1?

I use this device on steam big picture on a windows 8.1 machine.  There is a minor glitch where it doesn't work until after I am actually in a game.  So I have to use a keyboard to get past the opening cinematic and what-not, but once at any games main menu it works normally.

So It does not include rechargeable batteries?

No. Also to note I have experienced intermittent loss of signal on occasion and Windows 8 did not recognize mine, I had to manually select the Xbox 360 driver in devices and worked fine after that since it does use the same driver for some reason. Sometimes the center button will open Steam client into big screen mode if Steam is running in the background but rarely does it do so.

i have one logitech f710 and i have a plan to buy a new one for 1 vs 1 games. Is it okay to use two f710's in one pc knowing that there are two nano receivers? will the two gamepads work as 2 separate gamepads? thanks in advance

As long as you don't use Logitech's unifying software to add both game pad's to one USB receiver, it will be fine. But one thing to note is if your going to windows 10, Logitech does not have a supported driver. You can fix this by manually updating the driver to Microsoft Xbox controller. I am currently using the same game pad setup that way and everything works fine, even the rumble feature. Tons of online videos to show you how if you go that route.

Can this controller be used to wake up a Windows PC that is in sleep mode?

No the controller primary functionality is restricted to gaming software. But if you manually bind a keyboard key to it you may be able to wake-up windows.

Question 8

Is the wireless connection really pretty wimpy as some reviewers say? How long is the cord if I decide to fall-back on it and use it as a wired controller?

My PC is relatively far (about 8' and to the side) from where I will be sitting in front of my HDTV. Should I just go wired F510 and use an extension USB cable?

The wireless connection is actually really good. I can use the controller anywhere in my living room / dining room and I can even go into other rooms where I still have line of sight into the living room. I'm not sure what the full range is but I think I was getting a good 25 to 30 feet before running into walls.

The cord isn't for connecting to the controller; it's for extending the wireless connection. What you do is connect the cord to your PC and then plug the wireless nano receiver into the cord. That way you can put the receiver in a better location (e.g. next to the base of your TV instead of having it be behind your computer). Personally, I place the cord on top of my HTPC which is under the coffee table in my living room. The cord was long enough for me to put it under my TV and it worked fine there too.

I like being cord free using the controller but your preference may differ. The downside is that I have to replace the batteries but they seem to last a long time. (You can use rechargeable AAs or longer lasting AAs like I do, your choice.)

does this controller come with the pc receiver?

it comes with a usb cord (which can be handy as a usb extension for any application) and the receiver for wireless plug into that (so it can be in close range to the controller. A+ product, highly recommend as it is nion fully programmable!

How many controllers can be hooked to the same PC for local co-op games?

Honestly I would imagine the amount of controllers connectable to your PC game would be dependent on either how many ports your computer has or however many the max player capacity is. But I'm a consumer so I recommend you ask the Logitech support group on their website or find somebody who would have more experience on multiplayer PC gaming. sorry
