How does an air fryer work
The fan and heating mechanism allows an air fryer to blow super-hot air around the cooking basket or tray. This rapid air movement will create a convection effect that cooks and browns the food. An air fryer is a small countertop version of a convection oven. Air Fryers come in two models, either an air fryer basket or an air fryer oven. Both generally operate the same; the only difference is that the parts are in different places. Both will cook (air fry) your food the same.

How To Remove Plastic Smell From Air Fryer?
- First, clean the air fryer thoroughly. ---Bathe the air fryer’s components (basket, pan, grill rack) in warm water and soap for 10-15 minutes. and then using a soft sponge dipped in soap water, clean the components, the drawer, and the inside of the air fryer.--- Try running it at 400F for a couple of minutes to see if the smell has disappeared, if it doesn's, proceed with the next method down below.
- Secondly, if the air fryer still smells, try this. ---Place 1 tablespoon of distilled vinegar and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice in the air fryer. and then run it for a few minutes. After done, wait for a while (10 minutes).--- If the first run doesn’t get you anywhere, try increasing the cooking time and give it another go. (To get rid of the vinegar and lemon smell, place a dish containing water in the air fryer.)
- Hopefully, this should remove the plastic smell from your air fryer altogether.
