OVERVIEW

The Falken FK-090 is a touring, all season tire manufactured for passenger vehicles and SUVs.

This model is a temporary spare tire. This means that the tire comes with a smaller frame which helps to minimize the trunk space the tire takes up. However, the smaller size comes with a price. The tire cannot offer the same performing capabilities as a regular sized tire. Therefore, it must be kept at 60 psi and should not be driven at more than 50 mph. This combination makes it perfect for emergency situations, when the regular tire is damaged.

The tire ensures excellent all season traction. The ribbed tread design, with the notch placement, works with the all season compound in order to increase the dry, wet, and light winter grip. Optimizing the tread provides additional biting edges, while the compound keeps the tire pliable. The circumferential grooves disperse water and slush, in order to combat hydroplaning in wet conditions. This model should not be used in severe winter conditions, as it is unable to provide the needed traction.

The FK-090 boosts the controllability as well. The tread design features a continuous center rib, which maintains the surface contact at all times. This boosts the steering responsiveness and driving stability. While the tire cannot exceed a 50 mph speed limit, within that range it guarantees the driver's control over the vehicle. This makes the tire easier to handle and maneuvering

Manufacturers recommend changing tires every 10 years. As long as tires are properly stored before they are sold, the year of their manufacture will not shorten their service life.
