The ASUS ROG NUC 16 is a compact 3L gaming desktop with an Intel Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus processor, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 Mobile GPU with 16GB GDDR7, 32GB DDR5 memory, and a 1TB SSD. It suits gamers and creators seeking high-performance hardware in a small workspace footprint.
Recommended For
- PC gamers with limited desk or living-room space who want to play demanding games on a compact, monitor-connected system rather than make room for a tower; hands-on coverage describes the NUC 16 as a 3-liter gaming PC and reports smooth gameplay in testing.
- Creators who need a small desktop for GPU-accelerated editing or design: a hands-on user tested a real 4K Premiere Pro project and reported being able to edit and export, with occasional hiccups on more demanding timeline sections.
- People who move a desktop between fixed setups or travel with their own monitor and peripherals, and value a small PC over an all-in-one laptop; the compact chassis is easier to relocate than a tower, though it still needs external power and a display.
- Users who want a compact creator or gaming PC but still expect to expand memory and storage later; ASUS supports memory and SSD upgrades, and the review unit had accessible memory slots and two M.2 slots.
