That is correct.  The charger plugs into the charging cord. You don't need to keep it plugged in all the time and the charger recharges in an hour or less.  I am very pleased and was skeptical because I have always used a blade.  I still use a blade from time to time, but mostly use the Panasonic ES8243A on a daily basis.  I have used the Panasonic for about 5 months and it took a month or longer for my face to get accustomed to it.  I shave dry, but have tried it both wet and dry and prefer the dry method.  Hope this is helpful.
