does this phone have a ear phone jack?

Yes it does, although I haven't used it.  The phone is fine for the price, but I have been disappointed by the audio quality of the speakerphone.  Maybe it is better with a headset.

Does this system have "paging" capabilities (where you can page one handset from another)?

Yes it does. I suggest naming your handsets as to where in your home you keep them. i.e. Living room, kitchen, etc. Then you can use the intercom to find specific handsets.

Question 3

The item picture on your website shows a base unit + 4 handsets for total of 5 handsets but the description says only one handset is included.    please clarify????

Based on my dealings with Newegg all being favorable plus the price in an appropriate range and the pictures ALL showing 5 handsets, I would be inclined to write the "1 handset" off as a typo.  If you are really worried just give them a call and I suspect they will agree.

Does this phone light up when it rings and is there a blinking light when there are messages?

Yes it lights up and the control panel plus all the phones show that you have a voice message .  Also all phone have a count of missed calls that did not leave messages, one phone can delete all calls missed and all phone will keep phone book in memory from any one phone, I rate this phone a 5 star it's the best one I have had.

What cell phones are they compatible with?

They are compatible with any Bluetooth phone.  We have 2 very different Samsung phones connected, one an Android phone the other a basic, non-smart phone.  The functionality is limited (no texting) but for phone calls it works great.

Does this phone pair with the iphone 5s, which is an ios4, without
any other products needed?

Yes, it does. I have successfully connected it to Iphone4, 4s, 5 and 5s. No other hardware needed.

If so, there's no mention of it in the "Operating Instructions"...neither table of contents nor index.

Panasonic does have a help site, but newegg doesn't permit links.

It's pretty easy to find, though.
