For a lot of products, you would be exactly right. But not this one. I use it extensively---I have Windows 10 Pro, Windows 7 Ultimate, ChromeOS and Linux Mint all installed in virtual machines on my Hackintosh. It just works. Creation of virtual machines is pretty straightforward and performance is surprisingly good. I'm running it using an Intel i7-4790K (4GHz Quad-Core) and 32GB of RAM. Also, if you go ahead and register the program you should qualify for a free upgrade to version 12. I did.

Question 2

I have parallels 10 on my Mac.  Ever since I upgraded to El Capitan, my Lexmark Platinum Pro 905 will not print from my Windows 7 on my Mac.  Will it work or print if I install Parallels 11?

It should work with your current configuration.
I’d suggest reinstalling Parallels Tools and check if the printer has been setup correctly.

Upgrading to Parallels Desktop 11 will probably help too as Parallels Tools will automatically be reinstalled during this process.

What is Mac Key Card?

The 'key card' is the number you're given with your purchase. It comes in a box, but there is no actual CD to load into your computer. You go to the Parallels website and type in the number on the key card you're sent. With that, you're allowed one download onto one computer. So the key card is essentially the ticket to the download.
