Parallels emulates a PC which means anything you can do on a PC, Parallels will do too. Only drawback is anything emulated is slower than native.

this is a retail box version.. with a disc and install key.. but I downloaded the software from the site then used the key that was in the box...

Will I be able to use my Adobe Creative Suite CS6, which is for Windows, on my new Mac without difficulties?

I actually use it to run 3dsmax on occasion when I don't want to reboot into bootcamp. That being said, you are not going to see native performance from Adobe CS6; it doesn't take advantage of graphic card acceleration. I would suggest setting up bootcamp and running windows 7 if when you need to use CS6.
