No I just checked and there is no light when data is transmitted. Probably due to the size, it's the smallest 3.0 of this gig I've seen and it's very fast even on 2.0 depending on the file. One other thing of note it is the first 64 gig drive my PlayStation 3 could actually read as previous to this drive 32 gig was the biggest, but that could be due to an update on the PS3. I haven't tried any of my other large jump drives since I tested them and they didn't work. It does not have a light though so if that's a deal killer you don't want it.
