My question is, I have a few customers who pay through phone. That means I don't have the credit card with me but I punch in there number down. Will this device do the same? as in, I'll be able to punch in the numbers?

Hi Adrian, 
NO this will not allow that. With this one you can RECEIVE a payment using a credit card.... you have to have a credit card to slide in, like in the store, and the money will go into your PayPal account.

My company needs to take payments at trade shows in convention centers.  My experience has been that wifi is usually very weak.  I currently use a credit card swiper, but it doesn't work with a weak signal.  How will this product improve my ability to accept credit cards at my booth at trade shows?

if your company has Paypal account, you can sign in to your company's Paypal account from your mobile device or companies mobile device which has Paypal here credit card app installed.
you can use this Paypal here Credit card reader and make transactions even if your WIFI signals are very law, your 4G/LTE OR your company's cellphone internet would work fine. it can be more convenient for you to make transactions even if there is no WiFi available...

I was told: As long as you have Paypal account and your device can access the Internet / Wifi you should be able to transact. However, I don't know how transactions in foreign currency, conversion rate are calculated. 
My opinion: Think about how you want your money to be debited and also the native currency of the card that you are transacting from.

Does this work with a iPod??

My understanding is that this product only works with and iPad, iPhone and some connected Android smart phones. An app is not available for other tablets or other smart devices at this time, likely for security reasons.

Don't you need a PayPal Premier account to use this?

You do not.  Standard PayPal here account works just fine.  I'm not a business owner, I got it just so friends can't use the "I don't have any cash on me" excuse anymore.

How safe is this product and will I receive information on how it works shipped with the device?

It is as secure as any other like Intuit which I was using.  I left Intuit because the slider they provided would not work with my Samsung Galaxy 4, and I had to type info in and pay another 1% fee.  There is not information with the device.  You will need to download the PayPal app from the Play store, and go to the PayPal site to set up the account.

Can i use this anywhere in the world? any extra charge ?

The information gathered from the card reader is local to the input device and any charges will be a result of the data transfer with your software application only.

Is the headphone plug long enough and/or not too wide at the base to accommodate devices which are inside a case?

It really depends on the case.  It fits fine in my S4 with the Spigen Slim Armor case on it.

I suppose as a last resort you could trim part of the plastic off the Reader near the base of the plug if it is bumping into something on your case.
