Can you place a fan under the heat fins? I am trying to keep this under 48mm.

No, the mounting kit is needed to fit underneath the radiator fins. If you want to keep the height down, you'd have to mount a slim profile fan.

What's the TDP of this cooler? Will it cool a i5-6500 (non-OC)?

I have this on an i7 4700k overclocked and at full load it stays between 58-63 degrees celsius which is more than acceptable.  The i5-6500 uses lower voltage and runs much cooler.  If you are running a non-OC chip it will be totally fine and very quiet.

Is this cooler compatible with other 120mm fans?

If I were to get this, I'd like to replace the current fan with a Notcua.

Yes it will work with other fans but they don't secure as tightly due to the phanteks having little rubber bumpers on the corners.  Also anything short of the 3000rpm noctua fan isn't going to be an upgrade over this fan as it's already a pretty good one.

I bought this cooler before release of Ryzen. I suggest contacting Phantek and see if it had been updated and what model number it's the updated cooler.

As far as I can tell it's virtually silent. I do have it in a htpc case with a couple noisy 80mm fans. I can't be certain but I believe most if the noise my system generates comes from them and not the cooler.

I would pass on this with an x99 board. With the ram slots on both sides of the cou socket and gskill' tall ram coolers I'm afraid you may run into issues.

Absolutely minimal. It’s hard to calculate in my system, but this workhorse doesn’t draw anymore than a stock intel cooler. Hope this helps!

I need a CPU cooler for a SUPERMICRO MBD-X10DAI-O Extended ATX Xeon Server. Would this work? Any ideas on what I could use if not.
