Philips Sonicare 4100 Power Toothbrush, Rechargeable Electric Toothbrush with Pressure Sensor, White (HX3681/23)

The Philips Sonicare 4100 HX3681/23 is a rechargeable electric toothbrush with a pressure sensor, two intensity settings, and a two-minute timer with quadrant pacing; it suits people who want guided brushing and a gentler option for sensitive gums.

Recommended For

• People switching from a manual brush who want a straightforward electric routine: the 4100 has one-button operation, a two-minute timer, and 30-second quadrant pacing.
• Brushers who tend to press too hard and want a cue to ease off: the pressure sensor alerts when it detects excessive pressure, and the two intensity settings offer a simpler way to adjust the brushing feel.
• People who want everyday sonic brushing without paying for app-based coaching or a large set of modes: reviewers describe the 4100 as a streamlined model with the core brushing features.
• People who take occasional trips and prefer not to pack a charger: Philips specifies up to 14 days of use per charge, though this HX3681/23 package does not include a travel case.

Real-World Use Scenarios

• When someone tends to rush or miss parts of their mouth, the two-minute timer and quadrant cues provide a simple routine: brush each section in turn until the session ends.
• For someone who tends to press hard while brushing, the handle’s pressure feedback changes when it detects excess force, prompting them to ease up rather than continue pressing as firmly.
• When moving from a manual toothbrush to an electric one, a user can follow the built-in timing prompts instead of estimating how long to brush; the reviewer found the timer and pacing cues easy to use during a regular session.
• For a trip lasting several days, the user can leave the charger at home and continue their usual brushing routine; Philips rates the battery for up to 14 days based on two two-minute sessions per day.
• When a brush head has been in use for a while, the replacement reminder gives the user a cue to change it, helping them avoid relying only on memory to keep up with brush-head replacement.
