Pros: Works well. Bought it to play Blu-Ray discs on a Media Center PC running Vista Ultimate. Its played all the Blu-Ray discs I've thrown at it so far. Definitely recommend doing the update that's available from Pioneer. Doing that update allowed me to play all the discs I own.

Cons: Not much, just a little annoying that you have to download an update right away, but not too big a deal. Most of the discs I've opened have documentation that says to check for updates on your player, so not a real big deal.

Overall Review: Haven't burned anything on it, but the specs seem a little slow. Then again I didn't purchase it for burning, just for watching videos.

Pros: Drive works when using third-party software.

Cons: Included software (WinDVD 8) is PATHETIC. Pioneer should not associate themselves with an application that is so MISERABLE. In order to appreciate the hardware, you'll have to spend another chunk of cash on software that can take full advantage of the drive's features. The drive is reasonably priced by newegg.com, but additional third-party software costs make the drive more expensive than the initial purchase.

Overall Review: After purchasing CyberLink's Power DVD Ultra, I have been able to successfully watch BD movies.

Pros: Drive worked great out of the box.

Cons: The included software is horrible. I couldn't even play the Blu- Ray I wanted to play because the non-adjustable region in the settings was wrong. No SATA cable included.

Overall Review: I'm going to buy some real Blu- Ray playback software asap. I recommend ordering some 3rd party software when you order this drive.

Pros: Was a good value, also burns DVD/CD. Plays Blu-ray movies on my HTPC over HDMI.

Cons: Needed a firmware update before it was stable. The included WinDVD software is a little dated and not as good as other playback software. Also I had to call support to update the firmware as on their site it lists that there are two models of this drive 202 and S02. The site asked that I use a tool to determine my drive, I did and it came back as 202. I tried the 202 update and it would not update. I called and was told that the tool provided didn't really work and to try the S02 (even though on their site it clearly states that flashing the wrong firmware would be my fault). The S02 flashed just fine and the drive is working beautifully.

Overall Review: Pioneer support was a joke, their 800 number was busy the first 4 tries and then I was on hold for 30 minutes all because their site was plagued with misinformation.

Pros: Very good drive, Installed easily and BIOS recognized it right off.

Cons: Bad software - comes with WINDVD8 which only supports only VGA cards: NVIDIA GeForce 8500GT, GeForce 8600GT, GeForce 8600GTS only according to its web site. It won't even play Blue Ray through HDMI.

Overall Review: Will try to make this work with a Gigabyte GA-MA78GM-S2H and it still doesn't work, will replace the software with PowerDVD 8 Ultra. Crossing my fingers

Pros: It works with Vista 64 Ultimate, no problems at all with the installation and Vista recognizing the device even before the drivers were installed.

Cons: None

Overall Review: Make sure your Mobo is on Pioneer's list of compatable Mobos. If not your risking a big chance of going through h3ll with getting Vista to recognize the device on a Mobo that is not on the list.

Pros: Everything worked right out of the box, comes with blu-ray playback software that worked, blu-ray rocks

Cons: none really, software is limited but gets job done

Overall Review: running this on a evga 680sli,e6600,8800gtx ,24"1920x1200 ,vista 32 premi. 2 gig ram, have tried 5 movies so far all worked

Pros: plays blu ray on your computer. i'de prefer over standalone because, well; it's cheaper! standalone players can be kind of roomy so why not stick one in your already taking up space computer? the picture was so clean...i'm never buying a dvd again. brings my room to life with my 40" 1080p monitor and pioneer 5.1 sound system.

Cons: was a little troubling to get it to actually read blu ray at first. took a few hours for me to figure it out and a couple of restarts but it worked eventually. it is a little louder than my samsung lightscribe drive.

Overall Review: if you have an hdcp video card and hdcp monitor this is a good investment. i'm running on an 8800gt superclocked and have it wired to my 40" 1080p which acts as my computers monitor via dvi to hdmi connection. works flawlessly.
