Yea it works fine with win 7. I highly recommend this pioneer burner. Zero problems ever. Spend the little extra on this brand they are super reliable. And I burn a LOT of DVDs.

Does this drive read/write m-disks?

I do not have any m-disks to test for certainty. However, the developer of the m-disks indicate on their website (web page link not allowed=w?w.mdisc.c?m/m-ready/) that this drive will read and write both the DVD and Blu-Ray versions of these discs.

The only concern for any drive should be writing to the DVD version of the m-discs, since the developer says that the Blu-Ray discs "meet all current standard drive specifications" and that "any standard DVD drive can read" the DVD m-disc. I hope this helps.

I see someone said it was "compatible with windows 7 or 8 as well as xp" BUT DID NOT mention Windows 10??

Yes, it works just fine under Windows 10 although sometimes I have to reboot after plugging into the USB port (I leave it unplugged until I need it. I'm in the process of trying a Wavlink externally powered USB hub which I think provides additional power for an external USB drive. The Wavlink 10-port solved issues that I had with an mSATA external drive which was causing my laptop to crash (not enough power to the drive). The Pioneer is a good buy from my experience.

Does this player come with dvd media player software, like windows media player?

windows media player is standard in all versions of windows but to play certain files you may need to download extra. I personally use k-lite codec witch enables the original media player (windows media player) to play the high definition files on the disc. I do this so I dont have to download extra video players like VLC or ones like it.

Question 5

Has anyone found a DC 5V power adapter that will work with this device? I would rather not have to take up 2 USB ports to provide power to the drive.

I haven't tried it yet, However, most newer adaptors have higher Amps. Which is what it needs 2 USB's for.
I have L6U with 2 outlets and it's UL Listed USB Wall charger I have in my  bag. It's 2.4amps per USB outlet. My lap-top has 4 USB outlets so not been a problem yet.

May try later to verify.

Also, if only reading, can work with 1 port. It's writing that really needs the Amps if writing at fast speeds.

Is this compatible with the Apple OS?

Yes, works great on my iMac, using OSX 10.10.  I've burned Blu-Rays using Adobe Encore and Roxio Toast and they play great on my PS3. I haven't tested them with a stand alone Blu-ray player, as the PS3 is my only player, at the moment. Works out of the box, no drivers to install. It does benefit from having two USB ports to plug in. I bought a powered 10 port USB hub so now have plenty of open ports.

Don't see why it won't as long as you have 2 USB 3.0 inputs. I use it with my Mac Pro and MSI GT70 and GT72.
