Sirs,I bought a 7.1VSX1022K A Samsung Bluray,Polk  front,center,and 10 in woffer.I have a 47 in. LG LED Smart Tv. Are my components compapatable?I have a Hdmi cable from my HDTV cable box.Besides speaker wires What do I need to run underhouse from the Reciever to my HDTV? Please help.

You seem to have purchased a receiver more advanced than your needs. The Pioneer can utilize as many as 7 speakers in addition to the subwoofer. You seem to have [I assume] 3 speakers (front left, front right, center) plus a subwoofer. There is no penalty to this set-up...however you could have spent less...unless you plan to add more speakers in the future. That would definitely affect your wiring situation, though.

As it stands, the usual connections that are made with the components you describe are an HDMI cable running from the cable box to the receiver (SAT/CBL input), a second HDMI cable running from the Samsung to the receiver (BD [for Blu-ray Dvd] input), and a third HDMI running from the output of the receiver to the input of your TV (usually HDMI 1). You use the remote or the manual buttons on the front of the receiver to switch devices (SAT/CBL to BD and vice versa) when you want to view their respective content.

Don't forget the subwoofer cable output on the Pioneer receiver is a coaxial pre-out. Your subwoofer may have differing inputs, so check early to make sure you have the right cable or wire to make the connection.

Question 2

I got this new receiver all hooked up like people have told Paula....my question is...do I have to always have the receiver on to just watch the tv?
When I turn the receiver off, the tv goes off....I was under impression that the receiver had a bypass or something, that would let me turn on the tv without turning on the receiver.
Dish Network box to receiver SAT/CAB slot via HDMI....TV to receiver via HDMI on the isolated HDMI slot on back of receiver OUT in top left hand corner.

Go to page 55/56 of the manual and read the instructions for setting the "standby through" input.  Basically choose HDMI setup from the on screen menu and then set thestanby/ through option to Sat/Cbl.  This is how I have my time warner cable box set up and it works great. When you turn the receiver off, it will take 3-4 seconds to switch to standby and you will be able to use the dish box and tv normally.

Is it possible to play video files through the usb port? is there any av receiver that can do this?

Never heard of one.  Typically most people will have a blu-ray, dvd, laptop, tablet, etc connected through the receiver for video, audio, and picture output to the receiver, so I'm not sure why you would want the receiver to decode video especially if you have something coming through the hdmi inputs that is capable of video decoding.  Receivers are typically used for quality audio decoding, amplification, and sometimes video upscaling.
