Is this a twain scanner?

Yes, it is a twain driver. If it wasn't we wouldn't be able to use it and we have 30 or more.....

Is it easy to rename files? if so, what is the process for renaming them?

this is not a good buy. i am sorry that i purchased this model

Does this automatically scan both sides of the page or single only?

It will do both. Right click on the scan icon and choose single or duplex to choose one side or both.

Does the scanner work with Windows 7 and Windows 8?

Runs fine on Windows 7. To my experience, anything that works on 7 works on 8, however, I've not loaded this scanner to a W8 PC

Are you able to send documents directly to a specific file in your computer?

It is set up to autogenerate names (default is date/time, you can modify) when scanning straight to a file. There is also a default directory (also changeable). When you push scan it drops it straight to a file without prompts.

Does it work with Windows 10 Professional 64 bit ?

Under no circumstances would I purchase this item. I have had so many problems with this model. Half the time, the scanner experiences some internal problems. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS MODEL
