I do not believe the heatsink will fit on the motherboard I am considering (ASUS ROG STRIX B850-F).  Has anyone tried this drive without the heatsink?  How did it perform?

I took a quick look at the ASUS ROG STRIX B850-F. Personally I have not seen that board in person, the location of the M2 slots  seems to have heat sinks built in all ready. The PNY CS3150 is at least 1 inch thick. So I would vote no, if you are using the factory heat sink. The only thing that you would be missing is two little fans........ Also take note of what kind of CPU cooling that you will be using.....
