what is the minimum power supply needed for this card?

Like this card - make sure you install the latest drivers! My box did NOT include a quick install guide, driver/utility disk nor the requisite 6 pin auxilliary power connector. Luckily I carry a LOT of spares. If you don't, you might have to buy one.

My PC has a 500 Watt Coolermaster p/supply. It is an FM1/2.9 GHz Quad core cpu, a 250Gig 2.5" SSD, a 3.5" 1 Terrabyte W/D Black and a further 3.5" 750 Gig W/D Black. It has a single stick Kingston 1600 DDR 3 memory stick. Replacing the prior 640 GT EVGA - which did NOT require a 6 pin aux. power connector - didn't trouble the Coolermaster at all.

My FM1 is a 90 Watt TDP cpu and I do NOT o/clock anything. Thus I would guess that a min. 430 Watt p/supply should suffice for a medium rig such as mine if you have fewer drives. If you have a more modern/faster rig you might want to go to a 500 watt. I always use a good name brand unit (but NOT ANTEC - I've had too many duds from this 'good' brand!). I like Coolermaster and Thermaltke. I have been building system for over 20 years.
