Not sure. But retro-compatibility is limited, meanwhile it should be compatible with any forth GPU as long as the thunderbolt implementation is compatible on the computer. That's where I had the most problem, because all thunderbolt port are not equal.

Yes, It is only about a foot long though.  So keep that in mind when deciding how you have to orient it with respect to your laptop.

Has anyone tried this with a Dell XPS15 9575 (2-in-1)?  I'm curious if the Vega interconnect interferes with performance.

Answering my own question, but yes; this works with my XPS15 9575.  I did not run any benchmarks, but it works just fine with no noticeable difference in response time (at least for me).  Installed an RX580 and hooked up to my 1440p 144Hz monitor, Ethernet, and USB keyboard, mouse, headset and controller.  Only used for a few days so far, but I'm pleased.

No, this one consists of the external enclosure that you can put in your own PCI Express graphics card. It doesn't have to be PowerColor branded, but just watch out the size. I have tested on Vega 56 reference, Vega Frontier and PowerColor Nano.

I am using it on an older XPS 13 9360. It works. Thunderbolt 3 is pretty much a standard. Just ensure your firmware for the laptop is up to date (Thunderbolt 3 controller) and also update the driver from the Dell website. Windows 10 is a must.
