This review is from: NUANCE PaperPort 14
Pros: used to be great, 5 years ago
Cons: starting with version 12 Paperport has gone downhill. Now with version 14 it locks up. Support (Philippine's) is virtually hugely incompetent. Problems that were to be fixed 6 months ago are still a problem. It does not seem PP is maintained anymore. No fixes since last summer. Maybe even Nuance has given up. After 20 years of Paperport I switched over to FileCenter. it does just what it has to do. No drama, no problems. AND they have customer service that actually works and provides useful answers
Other Thoughts: Don't buy, get FileCenterREAD FULL REVIEW
This review is from: Team 32GB microSDHC Flash Card With Card Reader Model TUSDH32GCL1033
Pros: cheap, cheap, Card reader is handy
Cons: It failed after 8 months. Team has no office in the US and Newegg is their only vendor in the US. Team warranty web site says to return it to the vendor (Newegg). Newegg says sorry, past your 30 days return period. Newegg is now contacting vendor to see what can be done.
Almost more of a hassle then it is worth. The life time warranty is worth even less it seems if Team has no presence in the US and tells you to send it back to the vendor.
Other Thoughts: Alright, it was too cheap, but that handy little SD card reader was what sucked me in.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: AVG Anti-Virus + PC TuneUp 2014 - 3 PCs / 2-Year
Pros: I am sure it works great as an anti virus. Since no virus program works 100% I use it in combination with a regular manual scan with Malwarebytes. It has found things AVG never saw (and viceversa)
Cons: I tried to put AVG on my netbook without a CD drive. I copied the CD to a USB and tried to install it that way. Done this many times with other programs. No dice, the installation fails. A chat with support told me to try later, they were too busy for me. I called AVG support but they have just a bunch of screen script following incompetents working for them and they could not help me out. In the end I found another .EXE file in another directory that did the trick, but AVG needs to get some real techs with some knowledge. The programmers that put the installation program together needs to be beaten with a stick. No reason for customers to get annoyed by such nonsense.READ FULL REVIEW
