Excellent for the price!

JBL Loft 40 125-watt, 5-1/4" two-way bookshelf speakers
JBL Loft 40 125-watt, 5-1/4" two-way bookshelf speakers

Pros: Treble very clear and detailed when equalized Bass punchy and strong without subwoofer when placed near wall (especially in the corner like mine) Well balanced sound, good freq response Removable grills Takes banana plugs

Cons: Lightweight (cheaper box materials) Bass a bit lacking if poorly placed in room

Overall Review: Great speakers for music, perhaps not best for movies / TV without adding a dedicated subwoofer and center channel I found bass to be strong when they're placed near a wall, but not quite as detailed and tight as my 8" subwoofer of course

Beginning to fail in new computer

Toshiba 128GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) HDTS212XZSWA
Toshiba 128GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) HDTS212XZSWA

Pros: Good speeds Extremely lightweight Cheap

Cons: Not reliable Feels / looks cheap Inconsistent

Overall Review: This drive worked well in my old laptop and tested with reasonably good speeds. However, when put into my new computer in RAID 0 config, this drive repeatedly failed and crashed my computer while the other ADATA brand SSD had no issues. This drive is failing with hardly any use and after a very short time. Therefore I would not recommend it to anyone despite the low price.

Excellent compact home office laser printer

Brother HL-L2380DW Duplex 2400 x 600 DPI USB / Wireless / Ethernet Mono Laser Printer
Brother HL-L2380DW Duplex 2400 x 600 DPI USB / Wireless / Ethernet Mono Laser Printer

Pros: fast (over 30ppm) wireless attractive small size (for laser/scanner) economical toner easy to setup responsive touchscreen extra features (print from/to cloud etc.) sharp text duplex prints (two-sided) scanning feature (also fast)

Cons: fuzzy graphics colors/shades other than pure black are less sharp if you look really closely you can see the dots on edges (lower dpi) no traditional faxing (but can do digital) no 5ghz wifi support (2.4ghz only)

Overall Review: I bought this from BB, not newegg.. but I thought I should leave a review here because I saw so many useless reviews on the page about damaged upon arrival and such (just exchange it with newegg ya donuts). I haven't had issues with mine and I'm happy with the ease of wireless setup and the modern appearance in my home office. Doesn't look like an eye sore like most printers. Quickly spits out prints within seconds. Relatively quiet, especially compared to inkjet. I have zero power surge issues when laser warms up that I've seen mentioned elsewhere.

Upgrading from the GTX 770

MSI GeForce GTX 970 GAMING 4G
MSI GeForce GTX 970 GAMING 4G

Pros: Best for cooling and overclocking Huge low RPM fans and heat sink (also a con) Nearly silent operation.. even during gaming At least 20% faster than the 770 (2GB), especially at higher res Extremely efficient power usage Can enable LED indicator to show GPU temp, load, or fan speed

Cons: Very large card, significantly larger than the gtx 770 Form factor with position of power connectors made it very difficult to fit in my mini-ATX case Again, due to size of heat sink and power location, it does not sit properly in my case It exhibits some mild coil whine while gaming, noticeable when audio is quiet (also noticeable due to the fact that my computer runs silently) Plastic case (doesn't really matter)

Overall Review: Probably not a huge upgrade from the 770 but worth the $100 once I sell the 770, especially with the free witcher 3 bundle. It's a directx 12 card, and handles advanced rendering more efficiently than the 770. much cooler and quieter while using less power. If only it fit properly in my case.. the EVGA 770 fit perfectly in my mini case but this one is at an awkward angle due to the power cables hitting at top. I would probably exchange for a smaller card if Newegg didn't have a ridiculous 15% charge on return policy. This is mainly why it gets 4/5 eggs rather than 5 for me.. also it would be nice if it didn't have any coil whine.

wow, excellent deal!

Changhong 40" Class 1080p LED HDTV - LED40YD1100UA
Changhong 40" Class 1080p LED HDTV - LED40YD1100UA

Pros: cheap bright sturdy glass stand swivel, pivot good on-screen controls clicky/responsive controller very loud speakers attractive appearance thin bezels contrasty and good colors lots of inputs

Cons: inputs a little difficult to get to tv controls hidden on side chinese brand viewing angles not the best, but not bad

Overall Review: Wow, this was a great deal! I felt like I was taking a risk buying such a cheap TV, but the quality is surprisingly good. Not top-notch of course, but definitely not disappointing. I thought the contrast rating was a bit low in the specs, but viewing it in person the contrast is great when viewed head on, and not too bad from the sides. Overall, the viewing angle is probably the only real con for this TV, but it's really not a major issue. It just looks significantly better when viewed from the front vs. from the side. I'm not sure how it compares in this respect to other LCD screens. I was really impressed with the quality of the stand (thick heavy glass), and the swivel ability. I was planning on mounting but I might keep it on stand so i can swivel it back and forth. Also found that the controls were excellent and intuitive to use. You can view very easily information about the current show and future schedule -- all from over the air antenna. Great buy!
