works as expected
Pros: Fit correctly the first time Came with 4 screws to mount the drive
Cons: There are no external holes that lines up with the screw holes of the internal mounting bracket, so the screwdriver has to be held at an angle with some very small screws. A magnetic screwdriver helps.
Overall Review: It took a second to realize that the "floor" of the tray was really a "ceiling". The drive connector won't lineup otherwise. Looks like all the other drive trays after insertion. Mine was black.
unstable
Pros: - cheap - a small pig-tail keeps the bulk of the device away from the USB port
Cons: USB 3 - not recognized USB 2 -Recognized the SDXC card, but randomly resets as if you removed and quickly reinserted the device.
Overall Review: Probably a bad solder joint. Performed at little better once it warmed up, but never stable enough to copy a 2GB file successfully.
DOA
Pros: price, features, size
Cons: Board will not power up. Standby power indicator is on, but nothing further. No beeps, no attempt to even spin the cpu fan.
Overall Review: the ground pin for the reset switch shows 3.3v, but ground for the power switch is correct. Something isn't right.
My poor ears!
Pros: Cheap, works
Cons: When doing a long, continuous read, such as backing up discs to an image file, there is a high pitched squeal that begins about 1-2 minutes into the read, and continues until the end of the disc. Imagine a sharp nail on a very long chalkboard. I can't stand to be in the same room with this drive when operating. I tried 2 units (RMA'd the first already) and they both have the same problem.
Overall Review: Due to the turnaround time on the first RMA, I'm now out of limits to RMA the 2nd drive.
