Very Pleased

AMD FX-8350 Black Edition Vishera 8-Core 4.0 GHz (4.2 GHz Turbo) Socket AM3+ 125W FD8350FRHKBOX Desktop Processor
AMD FX-8350 Black Edition Vishera 8-Core 4.0 GHz (4.2 GHz Turbo) Socket AM3+ 125W FD8350FRHKBOX Desktop Processor

Pros: - Puts many intel cards to shame for 1080p and 1440p gaming. - Has a good overclock sweet spot (with a good motherboard). - Great for programs that can properly utilize

Cons: - Hard to overclock on an old or cheap motherboard. If you have an 890fx or equal I wouldn't recommend overclocking. - AMD's max temperature threshold is much lower than that of intels; especially for this chip series. - Very few applications utilize 4 cores, never mind 8 cores.

Overall Review: This processor is cheap, performs well for gaming, and will overclock very nicely. It does have some negatives but I don't believe they are large enough to warrant a lost star. Do the research and understand the product before you buy it.

Most Critical Review

HDD Failure

Seagate Desktop HDD ST1000DM003 1TB 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive
Seagate Desktop HDD ST1000DM003 1TB 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: Performed very well while it worked. Great for gaming. Huge amount of space. 64mb cache.

Cons: HDD failed after about 2 months. Will be a pain to replace on my busy schedule.

Overall Review: It does have a 2 year warranty which is nice. I had always gone with WD before this and never had a HDD failure. That being said, their harddrives fail as well. Lets face it - sometimes its the luck or (unluck) of the draw.

G.SKILL Sniper 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Desktop Memory Model F3-10666CL9D-8GBSR
G.SKILL Sniper 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Desktop Memory Model F3-10666CL9D-8GBSR

Pros: Looks nice. DDR3-1333 gives updated performance for old motherboards.

Cons: None yet after 4 years.

Overall Review: When I bought my first 8GB kit 4 years ago I was hoping they would pass the test of time on my ASRock 890fx deluxe 3. They have - and I actually recently just bought another 8GB kit of this to complete the full 16. I'm hoping to get another 4 years from all 4 sticks!

It's okay

CORSAIR Hydro Series H80i High Performance Water/Liquid CPU Cooler. 120mm
CORSAIR Hydro Series H80i High Performance Water/Liquid CPU Cooler. 120mm

Pros: Easy setup, drivers allow you to switch fan speeds at any time, drivers also allow you to change the color of the "Corsair" logo, closed-loop requires very little maintenance compared to other water-cooling options, nice way to have water cooling with very little space.

Cons: The cooling really isn't that impressive for the price.

Overall Review: Air cooling can get you better performance than this, especially for the price. I was running a nice Zalman aircooler before this that achieved much better results for a price tag of only 50$ 3 years ago. Still 4/5 eggs because the rest of the product was executed nicely.

Good Soundcard Quality - Bad ACM

Creative Sound Blaster Zx 116dB PCIe Gaming Sound Card with 600 ohm Headphone Amp and Desktop Audio Control Module
Creative Sound Blaster Zx 116dB PCIe Gaming Sound Card with 600 ohm Headphone Amp and Desktop Audio Control Module

Pros: Great sound quality, nice looking card, can handle my high 200 OHM beyerdynamic dt880's, in my opinion the included program is very functional and handy. You are able to switch from speakers to headphones with ease.

Cons: The ACM reduces sound quality. The difference is slight but if you enjoy getting the most out of your hardware (which I do) it leaves you wanting more. I also think the ACM causes some 'crackling' at high volumes, but I can't confirm this. I eventually switched to plugging my speakers/mic directly into the back of the card because I knew my sound quality had more potential. I took out 2 eggs for this because the price gain of the zx from the z is the ACM.

Overall Review: It's a shame the ACM ruins the relevance of buying a zX. Just buy the Z, you'll save some money and your sound quality will be better without using the ACM. I use Beyerdynamic DT880's with this card and at about 50% volume level in my mixer I am able to hear the 'edge' of all footsteps in CSGO (no need for scout mode). No one has a competitive advantage over me while playing this game as I can hear footsteps from the farthest programmed point. Sound quality for music is great especially if you are upgrading from motherboard sound. The DT880's are known for accuracy and the Sound Blaster Z will give you a nice accurate and clean sound while supporting a high ohm frequency. Their really is no need for using equalizers when pairing a clean and accurate headphone/soundcard combination. You will hear things the way they were meant to be heard.

Best headset I've owned

Logitech G35 USB Connector Circumaural Surround Sound Headset
Logitech G35 USB Connector Circumaural Surround Sound Headset

Pros: -Has lasted me 4 years now. -It's inexpensive. -I use this specifically for gaming and I can hear more then most of my friends. I can hear more footsteps in CSGO and CSS with this cheaply priced headset when my friends are using expensive alternatives. -Comfortable for long gaming sessions. -Mic quality is great and designed fantastically. You can flip it up to mute the microphone and then flip it back down to turn it back on. It's come in absolute clutch while eating on Skype. The Mic feels and looks high quality and still is allowed a bit of give to bend. -Has an (okay) bass, and the treble doesn't distort making it perfect for competitive gaming (hearing footsteps most importantly).

Cons: -The synth leather on the ear cups and head strap wore off in about 1.5 years. I had to replace all of the cushions. -I don't really use the surround sound. I find this surround sound system to confuse you. You think something is in front of you and it ends up being behind you. Stereo works much better for gaming and is more accurate. You still know which direction someone is coming from in stereo (game sense?).

Overall Review: Every other headset I've owned didn't live through the abuse I give to them by lanning, random drops, and huge amounts of use. I know some people complain about the durability of the G35 but the metal bar inside of the top head strap really adds to the reliability of its durability. Seriously this thing should have broken a long time ago and it didn't. I had a pair of Steelseries Siberias - those lasted about 6 months and then broke when I let a friend wear them and he dropped them.. I had Steelseries 5Hv2's - the right ear randomly stopped working and the sound quality was never really there. I've had medUSA's, the sound quality distorted after about a year and the treble was much too high. These were all competitively priced (at the time) at about 75-100 bucks and the Logitech G35 has blown them all out of the water.
