EVGA GeForce GTX 1070 FTW GAMING ACX 3.0, 08G-P4-6276-KR, 8GB GDDR5, RGB LED, 10CM FAN, 10 Power Phases, Double BIOS, DX12 OSD Support (PXOC)

  • neweggOwned For: 1 week to 1 month

Pros: - full load temp 62C @ 1900 x 1080 (HD), 72C @ 3840 x 2160 (UHD)
- super quiet even at full load
- excellent quality (design/build is excellent)
- using EVGA Precision this card auto OC's to approximately 2GHz (completely stable)
- EVGA Customer Service is best in the industry

Cons: - none

Other Thoughts: if you plan on gaming on 4K UHD you may want to seriously consider getting a GTX 1080. This 1070 will run Rise of the Tomb Raider on UHD smoothly except when AI are plentiful along with lots of effects, etc going on and it never really is silky smooth. On 1900 x 1080 HD this card runs Rise of the Tomb Raider silky smooth, Battlefield 4 all settings on Ultra runs the same, etc.

Wanted to mention the following for those like me who think after-purchase manufacturer support is important:

It's said that EVGA has excellent Customer Service, #1 in the industry. It's also said too "test the waters" so I called EVGA before buying anything and my experience was as follows:

- they answered the phone quickly
- were pleasant
- were professional
- patiently answered all my Q's
- didn't require I give them a serial number before they would talk with me

I can't say that about the other companies I tried contacting; was auto-placed on eternal hold; never did manage to reach a human at any of those places ... just saying

NZXT S340 Matte Black/Blue Steel ATX Mid Tower Case

5 out of 5 eggs Great Case 12/21/2016

This review is from: NZXT S340 Matte Black/Blue Steel ATX Mid Tower Case

Pros: - nice flat black finish
- modular PS bracket
- modular SSD trays that fit the 2.5" SSD case perfect
- excellent cable management
- build quality is very impressive

Cons: - no DVD Drive opening

Other Thoughts: - Quality, modular design, fit and cable management-wise, this is the best case I've used for a build to date. Would be good to make sure the title of a case like this one says "no internal drive port" or flag it somehow before folks purchase it (like another reviewer here, I didn't look for the DVD port, why would I, I mean, ALL PC cases have at least one external DVD port - right? Wrong. This one doesn't have one. But everything fits well and it looks fantastic so I'm going to keep it and just run the power/SATA cables for the blu-ray drive out one of the access ports on the rear panel. I use a SeaSonic X750 and there's a cable long enough to reach the top of the case so I can place the drive there (the drive is painted flat black, hardly is noticeable, blends into the case)
