Perfect for my bedroom

LCD HDTV

Pros: Picture is great on HD channels; sound is great mostly; size is perfect for bedroom; love all the ports on back;

Cons: Audio crackles on channels with poor reception (antennae), cannot connect wirelessly.

Overall Review: Ok, I got this on an awesome sale ($200, free shipping, and only $20 for extra year of warranty), so I shouldn't say anything bad, but: audio cracks on some channels. I found an audio firmware update on toshiba.com for this specific model, along with decent instructions on how to freshly format a usb flash drive (fat - not ntsc!), and copy the firmware files to that drive, turn on the tv, and then plug in the usb drive. The firmware was almost automatic - just had to select yes using the left/right arrows, and press the usual button for enter. Then had to unplug tv briefly once it was done, and replug it in, and the tv restarted with the firmware properly installed! Went pretty smooth. Hopefully there will be less cracking of the sound on the weaker channels. Also, another commenter said the USB port would allow you to connect wirelessly - sorry but I don't think this is correct. The usb port functions to load firmware updates, and to play JPG pics and MP3 audio files through the tv. Once again, the usb drive has to be formatted using Fat (fat32 is ok), and it cannot have additional folders created on it! I have been playing around with connecting my laptop, and found that I needed a 15-pin male to male VGA cord which is not the usual for a computer setup. Usually it is male to female. I got an adapter on Amazing dot com for pretty cheap! Then when I hooked it all up, I had no sound at all! Turns out you have to also connect a basic 3.5mm audio cord to the headset out jack on the laptop, and then find the tiny little 3.5mm jack on the back of the tv for PC/HDMI1 audio in. It is there if you look hard! Haven't tried it, but I got the info from the toshiba.com site so I expect it will work fine now! Now all I need is a wireless keyboard and mouse for my laptop and I won't have to get up and down anymore! I love the favorites feature of the remote, and also the channel selection using the right or left directional arrow. This way you can skip right over channels you don't want and get right to the one you do want! I really don't like the multi-level mute. It goes to half volume the first time you press it, and then to full mute the second time. I guess some would like that feature. The closed captioning is a bit weird! I turn it on, and it shows on some channels but not on others that I know have CC programming! I love that you can customize the font, font color and size of the CC display - and the background color too, but it doesn't show up on any channels except the HD ones - possibly since I get my signal from an antennae! When you scroll through the channels, there seems to be a bit of a delay when the screen is black before the new channel loads, but you get used to this. Might be an LCD thing - not sure - my first one! Mostly, I am enjoying this new tv very much! Thanks Newegg for the super quick delivery! I love the OnTrac driver. He knows exactly how to deliver to my home from ot

Broken after 7 months!

LCD HDTV

Pros: Glad I bought the extended warranty!

Cons: Cannot watch over-the-air broadcasts on non-HD channels while PC is connected to VGA port. TV has a black line running from top to bottom about 10 inches from the right side of the tv. Black line arrived 8-5-13 - tv was purchased in end of December 2012 - only 7 months of use!

Overall Review: I have had several problems with this tv since I purchased it December 27. 2012. The "favorites" choices change by adding back a channel I have deleted - without any warning. I re-delete the channel and it reappears shortly thereafter. Also, it is very frustrating that I cannot watch any low-definition over-the-air channels while my laptop is connected to the television's VGA port. I repeatedly have to unplug the cord in order to watch the low-def channels. Very frustrating.
