Quick review an thoughts
Pros: Relatively fast: I tested the speeds using CrystalDiskMark 3..3 x64 on a Toshiba MQ01ABD075 HDD the results are as such Sequential(Read 105.1 MB/s Write 104.9 MB/s) 512K(Read 35.96 MB/s Write 31.39 MB/s) 4K(Read 0.508 MB/s Write 1.217 MB/s) 4K QD32(Read 0.561 MB/s Write 1.130 MB/s) Standard Micro USB 3.0 connector with backwards compatibility with Micro USB 2.0. Simple installation with only one screw. Adequate build quality.
Cons: Well first thing is that its only a SATA 2 connection on the on board chip, but that should pose any problems with bottle necking as it is not the limiting factor. The next thing is something to do with the build, as I have already mentioned the build quality is adequate but the plastic is a little brittle so dont go dropping it(but I would say that for any enclosure). Another thing is the padding inside it is plenty enough to securely hold the drove in the enclosure but it will not do much in the event of an impact.
Overall Review: Over all I am very happy with the product and feel that for the price it is quite satisfactory. For my few cons most are easily fixed with a minutes work. Now you cant fix the SATA 2 interface but that is more me being a bit of a snob than a real problem it is more than enough for most peoples usage and as I have said it will not be the limiting factor in the device. As for the padding you can fix it with a little adhesive backed foam pad but be sure not to use too much as this enclosure is plastic and it could cause a over. heating problem.
