Well worth the price

Aluratek AVW04H 4-Port HDMI Video Switch w/remote
Aluratek AVW04H 4-Port HDMI Video Switch w/remote

Pros: Very Very Very compact, much smaller then I thought it would be. Fantastic metal build quality. Fantastically easy to use.

Cons: No power switch on the front

Overall Review: I was considering this and the rosewill newegg offers, I'm glad I went with this one, it's metal construction, extremely compact design, and general look fit in perfectly with my entertainment setup. It feels like it cost considerably more, and I'd be very hard pressed to reccomend a more expensive option. Currently my setup looks like: 24" LG 1080p Monitor with HDMI < PS3, DVD Player, Computer Everything looks exactly as it would were i to plug it directly in. Well worth the cost, look no further if you need 2, 3, or 4 ports, the build quality is fantastic.

kinda useful

OLYMPUS VF-1 Optical Viewfinder for use with 17mm f/2.8 Micro Four Thirds Lens
OLYMPUS VF-1 Optical Viewfinder for use with 17mm f/2.8 Micro Four Thirds Lens

Pros: Fits in hotshoe, adds to the retro look of the camera, light

Cons: only works with the pancake 17mm, does not convey what the camera has focused on, increases bulk of the camera every so slightly reducing pocket-ability

Overall Review: This came with the E-P1 kit I purchased from Newegg (E-P1, 17mm and VF-1) and I spent all but one day using it. It's wonderful, fits the character of the camera well, but crucially does not convey what the camera is focusing on. If you're dealing with landscape sorts of photography (odd for this lens) that shouldn't be an issue. If, however, you're looking to take advantage of DOF and frame objects to make them pop, this won't help one bit. I'm guessing that's why Olympus went with the EVF. Anywho, it looks cool and does what it says it does, provides a frame of reference for what the lens is taking in.

Crucial 8GB (2 x 4GB) 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) Laptop Memory Model CT2KIT51264BC1339

Pros: Inexpensive, Stable, Delightful :)

Cons: Newegg's pricing isn't as amazing on this product as it is on others.

Overall Review: Purchased this with some trepidation after stumbling across those odd apple UK forum posts about the 27" iMac i7 not supporting 16GB without bizarre lock-up issues... I've now had 16 GB of ram installed (two of these kits) for over two weeks without a single hick-up or snag. In fact, I couldn't be happier. The iMac boots in under 15 seconds, almost as quick as my macbook air, and now manages to encode with handbrake at 250fps WHILE multitasking Adobe's creative suite. I've also run other stress tests with SC2 (running with every option to the hilt) and other processor intensive tasks. I simply cannot express how pleasantly surprised I am. In sort, ignore those ramblings across the pond, these kits are a tremendous bargain and rock solid.

Great, quiet, quick, well built

WD Elements 1.5TB USB 2.0 3.5" Desktop External Hard Drive WDBAAU0015HBK

Pros: Great Price, quick enough, QUIET, well built

Cons: none so far

Overall Review: Nicer than the myBook it replaces, as quiet, and less expensive. Loving it.

Huge, Fast, Quiet, Cool, Awesome

Western Digital Scorpio Blue WD5000BEVT 500GB 5400 RPM 8MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 2.5" Internal Notebook Hard Drive Bare Drive
Western Digital Scorpio Blue WD5000BEVT 500GB 5400 RPM 8MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 2.5" Internal Notebook Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: Very Cheap (seriously, I paid more for the 160 this is replacing when it was first introduced), easy to install, very quick - noticeably faster than the WD 160 it replaced, very quiet - quieter again than the 160 it replaced.

Cons: None

Overall Review: This drive replaced the previous western digital I was using, 160gb 5400 rpm in my macbook. Tired of being relegated to external hard drives I purchased this when it finally came to market (anyone else been waiting as long for these darn things to release?) and haven't been happier with a hard drive purchase since my first 4.2GB purchased back in the day. Faster, quieter, and with tons of room to spare the macbook now has tons of space for memory caching which has related to faster performance in many of my intensive apps, and the general boost in read/write performance becomes very clear when saving massive files. Now I'll need to find a TB drive for time machine.
