Defective
Pros: Has everything I need Price
Cons: Another defective gigabyte product. Turns on for one second then shuts off after less than a second. Went through thorough testing process to narrow down that it was the board.
Overall Review: Bunch of junk that new egg doesn't pay return shipping on products they sell. Here, have something broken, oh you want a working one? Have to pay to get another one basically
Worst board I've ever had
Pros: Had all the ports and features in a low cost board I was looking for
Cons: Never really worked...I was replacing Motherboard, CPU and Memory in my current computer. With my current PSU which works fine on my other board the board would power on for around a second then shut off, more like a blink of power then nothing. So I figured it was my PSU. Got a new one, the new PSU wouldnt power the board at all unless I jumped PS_ON and Common pins. So i tried a third lower watt power supply which powered the board fine. I RMA'd the PSU and got a new one. New one did the same thing...So I RMA'd the board because it didnt seem to play well with higher watt PSU's. The board came, exact same symptoms. All 3 PSU's i tried work fine on 2 other boards, only 1 PSU (a 400W PSU) worked on this board. I contacted Gigabyte 3-4 times which gave me the normal responses of, breadboard it, try without PS4 plug etc, which I had already done. Finally I got one tech on the phone that said it must be something with that model and to send it back to the store and get a different board. I contacted Newegg with these recommendations and because it was beyond the return period they had to contact Gigabyte. They did finally give me a refund and I ordered an ASUS. Received the ASUS last night, put it in with all the same hardware as my original build and bam, works fine. Tried it with the new PSU, works fine on that was well. I actually got it loaded last night and am using it to write this review. The only thing I could find was that the 400W PSU was putting out 4.4V on the PS_ON pin where as the other two PSU's were putting out 5.1V It seems like this board couldnt handle grounding the 5.1V output from higher wattage PSU's.
Overall Review: If I could give negative stars I would. Lesson learned, never buy Gigabyte again...
