LOVE IT!!!!!!!!

SAMSUNG 840 Series 2.5" 120GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) MZ-7TD120KW
SAMSUNG 840 Series 2.5" 120GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) MZ-7TD120KW

Pros: Wanted to upgrade from Vista Ultimate to Win7 and waited for a good drive to put it on for over a year now.... got this puppy at under $100 from the egg. My board is only SATA2 so I'm not going to get the awesome speeds I could but it will perform killer when I upgrade in the future... The kit comes with a snazy USB adapter, simple bracket and SATA cable... along with a CD with the utilities. I replaced a Hitachi 7200rpm drive and with the Win7 switch this thing is amazingly fast and seemless. Booting back up from a sleep state is as fast as it takes my 46" LED TV to warm up... I'm super happy with the speed of it compared to the old 7200rpm HDD. Yes it runs at default of TRIM enabled in Win7, just checked to make sure in for this.

Cons: I had to update the firmware before I did the install, no big deal took some time to get the utility to find the downloaded file which sucked but once unziped it to my desktop I found it and easily upgraded it.

Overall Review: Based on the reputation of the 840 Pro and the only downfall to this is the lower write speed from it... this drive is a no brainer. I looked at some deals on a 2nd Gen X-25 Intel and the newer 330 Intel drives and the Samsung was the best drive for the money and performance.... not to mention their durability. I'm pretty sure that this drive will outlast the OS, and that's really all I care! Also make sure you watch the SSD drive videos by newegg on here... they really helped with me learning about AHCI and learning where that was in my BIOS to make sure my drive ran properly.

LOUD

Link Depot FAN-9225-B 92mm Case Cooling Fan
Link Depot FAN-9225-B 92mm Case Cooling Fan

Pros: It's cheap

Cons: LOUD! way too much RPM for a quiet case fan.

Works on iPhone4s

IOGEAR - Composite AV Cable w/ Charge & Sync for iPod / iPhone (GIPODAVC6)
IOGEAR - Composite AV Cable w/ Charge & Sync for iPod / iPhone (GIPODAVC6)

Pros: Running 5.1.1 iOS on my phone still and Netflix, Youtube and Pandora both work like a champ, that's what I picked it up for.... a cheap way to get my iPhone hooked up to speakers loud enough to hear in my shop when I'm there... big ole analog TVs are awesome for this!

Cons: I hate the push buttom iPhone plugs... just a pet peeve No video on Pandora or most programs, but YouTube and Netflix work fine.

Overall Review: Cheaper than a iDock!

16gb of AWESOME

Crucial 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) Desktop Memory Model CT2KIT51264BA1339
Crucial 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) Desktop Memory Model CT2KIT51264BA1339

Pros: I've had this up to 1520 speeds (760Mhz) pretty easily on my setup at 9-9-9-24-33 timings. I started out last year with 8gb in my machine and just doubled up to 16gb with the same speeds and no problems. This stuff is nice and cheap, 16gb and I think i've spent under $80 total on it.... sure beats the old days of 2-3gb of gaming RAM that died and performed worse!

Cons: None

Overall Review: No issues and performs better than advertised... I'd love to run it higher because I know it will do DDR3-1600 speeds but with my 280mhz bus speed I would be at 1865 which would be 932mhz.... don't think that's possible, but I haven't tried either.

Love It!

AMD Phenom II X4 925 - Phenom II X4 Deneb Quad-Core 2.8 GHz Socket AM3 95W Processor - HDX925WFGIBOX

Pros: I got this because at under $90 it was the best bang for the buck... I formerlly had a Dual Core Black Edition and had some mother board issues so I said screw it, the MB, RAM and Chip need to be upgraded. It was WELL worth it I have had a Swiftech Apogee, hooked to a dual 120mm fan radiator and MCP655 pump for a while now just to keep my computer QUIET... so I figured WTH I will see where this puppy goes. This is the reason I love it! 272 x 14 = 3.8ghz @ 1.55V just because I can.... and it runs at 27°C-32°C (Idle to Prime95) Honestly I don't know if it couldn't go farther! I wouldn't be suprised with the RAM timings pulled back the HT multi set at x7 and some more Vcore I couldn't get 4.0ghz. This on a computer I use for my work to run long calculations AND as a TV/entertainment center at night thru my 46" LED.

Cons: When I first got this.... plugged it in and with the ASUS board it wouldn't dial back the timings on the Crucial RAM (8GB) when I pulled the multiplier back to get over 3.2ghz... so BSOD. I was bummed because people on air get this Chip to 3.5ghz on here and overclocking sites. But it was very fast even then.... So the other night I was thinking maybe that's the issue, so I fixed the timings and changed the mulitplier and started the slow reboot bumping process of 4mhz on the FSB a time... 3.4, 3.5, 3.6, 3.7 and now 3.8ghz. Cons? What Cons? Oh yeah they need to make more of these!

Overall Review: I've had a few chips over the years I love, Opteron 146 was a great machine we used even up to 07/11 when it got flooded, the LE-1620 I got for $38 and did 3.2ghz was awesome as well... but 4 cores and a 1ghz OC? I haven't seen that kind of gain in a decade, and to do it on a 4 core chip? This chip is awesome, and yes I made a Pineapple Express reference in here as well!

Amazing Stuff!

Crucial Ballistix Tracer 2GB (2 x 1GB) DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model BL2KIT12864AL1065
Crucial Ballistix Tracer 2GB (2 x 1GB) DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model BL2KIT12864AL1065

Pros: This RAM is amazing. I was looking at a few different sticks to try out and even though I wanted a 800MHz RAM I picked this because it's the cream of the crop/bang for the buck ou there. Running 1086Mhz @ 2.4V I have the timings set at 3-3-3-6-12-2T! I haven't tried higher frequency because with the dividers and my CPU clock I'm at 1300MHz. So I would have to drop my CPU speed down to gain RAM bandwidth, why do that?

Cons: It's not always in stock, it's not cheap, it might fail and it would be hard to replace!!! Only other thing I noticed was the thermal tape and stock heatspreader don't fit tight enough on the chips.

Overall Review: I also have some Thermaltake Sprint RS heatspreaders for it but haven't put them on yet because I don't know if that will effect my warranty? I have a 80mm fan blowing directly on them in my case at low speed just to make sure they stay cool.
