Comments: I just bought a second one of these. I now have 2 NEC 3520A's as external drives with my PC that also has an internal NEC2500A. With Nero 6 I can now burn 3 DVD's simultaneously. The construction is good. The case is plastic with internal metal shielding. Fan is quiet, I like the fact the power supply is internal. The only issue I have is that if I power up the enclosure with a CD or DVD inside the drive, it only comes up as a storage device, not as a DVD burner. Nero won't recognize it. If you have this problem be sure to connect the drive to your PC or power it on with the NEC 3520A empty. Note that this enclosure uses an ALI chipset. Note also that though the instructions say you can stack these on top each other, the BYTECC logo on the top front is a bit tall and gets in the way of proper stacking.

Pros: - zippy performance - higher resolution screen. Better for web surfing - great size - long battery life when on.

Cons: - continues to discharge the batter 5-6% per day even when completely OFF! - LCD display is glossy - LCD has too tight of a vertical viewing angle. It's got a sweet spot, but deviate from that a little and the screen washes out.

Overall Review: It may just be the SU2300 equipped versions - don't know yet. Do know that ~ 6 of us that bought these in late Dec have a problem in that this laptop will discharge the batter 5-6% per day even when OFF. It's not the battery because if I pull it, it doesn't discharge when left out for days. This past Sunday I charged it up 100% and left it until Sat, 6 days later. Powered it up and I was at 64% charge level. Acer tech support has been unhelpful. I have the latest bios, wake on LAN is off, again it is definitely OFF, not sleeping or in standby. Hopefully Acer will fix this issue.
