Corsair Force Series GS 2.5

Pros: Fast, quiet

Cons: Crashes daily. Bios stops seeing it. Have to do a complete power down for it to work again. Fails updating its firmware and at cloning it.

Other Thoughts: I initially gave this 5 stars back when I bought it because I was astonished by its speed. It was great for awhile and then it would crash once a week and now its almost a daily thing. My screen freezes or its the bsod. When I would reboot and go into the bios it would be the same thing, no ssd listed. The only way to get it recognized by the bios again was to do a complete power down. When trying to update its firmware it fails. I can't even clone this drive. I tried 3 different cloning software (including Corsairs Toolbox) and they all failed. I'm basically ready to go back to the hard drives.

Pros: Fast, requires less power, no heat being generated and small sleek size which takes up a lot less space.

Cons: More expensive than a hard drive, but prices are coming down and the performance is awesome.

Other Thoughts: I can sum this SSD up in one word, WOW. I was going to buy 2 replacement hard drives to keep my RAID striped setup but decided to try one of these instead. The performance is just awesome. It use to take Windows 40 seconds or more to load (after the bios post) but now after about 7 seconds the desktop is up and ready to go. Everything loads much faster now and installing updates is a breeze. Takes up a tenth of the space my 2 hard drives took and the speed blows my previous RAID setup away. Like I use to say about the old dial-up modems; I'll never go back. I paid an extra $3 for 3 day shipping and received it in 2 days. Way to go Newegg.

Pros: Works great when you finally get the drivers installed.

Cons: Nvidia driver issues. Lack of proper instructions from Nvidia.

Other Thoughts: Luckily I found some input from the EVGA forum on how to properly uninstall Nvidia drivers in Windows 7. I ended up having to reload my operating system. With no old drivers to uninstall the new drivers installed easily. Make sure to use a program like Driver Fusion to thoroughly remove any older Nvidia drivers before installing the new drivers or you are going to have driver install failures.
