BEST deal on Newegg
Pros: Everex has been making sturdy laptops for over ten years; Other high end laptops DON'T have two drive bays. Look, buy this computer. It is future ready, meaning the components that cannot be switched (graphics card) will be good for at least two years. Quality LCD screen and DDR2 ram. The newest AMD CPU technology.
Cons: Like others have stated, 5400 rpm HDD, and 1 single gig stick of ram. These aren't bad cons. Here's why: Both of these components can be upgraded for not much money. A 7200 rpm HDD can be purchased for around 50 bones. Two two-gig sticks made by mushkin with decent timings can be bought at around 80 bucks. With these upgrades, you computer will run even better than the Asus comp with similar specs. Check it out.
Overall Review: THIS computer is the one to buy, if you game or use any graphics intensive programs. You won't regret this purchase. Want to build a desktop? Don't. Buy this laptop; keep it for two or three years. It's worth it. Haven't seen this good of a deal on Newegg; been using them for more than 4 yrs. I work in the IT field. Trust Everex. :)
bad jbod, bad!!!
Pros: well, it can hold two drives at one time.
Cons: Drives tend to auto format into jbod, so if you want them separate, you have to format them one at a time, take one out, put the next one in, format, that kinda thing. This won't always work, since I took a single drive out after formatting them one by one) and took it over to a friend's place, the drive registered under windows, but no data. It couldn't be read because of the JBOD setup. Terrible!!!
Overall Review: Yeah, I bought this with high hopes and faith in EAGLE. Never again.
Strong Like Bull
Pros: The laptop bag is heavy duty, the weight is well distributed, and the form of the straps and back fit very well to the human body. That's really all I could ask from a bag.
Cons: There are not many cons, but the biggest is probably the lack of dedicated internal pockets for small stuff. As a professional tech and a technophile, I have lots of tiny dongles and USD drives that end up floating around in this bag. I also carry batteries, different pens, multiple cables, and all that sits nicely in the bag, but pockets would have solved the issue and this would be the perfect bag.
Semi-Pro DJ/Podcast
Pros: As people have said, the bass just isn't there for these headphones, but there is very clear sound. For 15 bucks, I use these with my mixer board to hear four separate inputs, and I don't need articulate bass for that.
Cons: No bass, but podcasts and live records don't require I have hefty bass.
Overall Review: Perfect for listening to podcast, cancels out about 50% noise, so if you need more noise cancellation, you'll need to spend more money.
Meh.
Pros: Size of screen. Resolution.
Cons: Screen bleeds from 3 different points. I've never seen a monitor that does that, and I'm really not very picky. Very dark. I saw this after messing with all setting several times, and having this next to another monitor the gradiance is substantial. I've purchased many hanns-g monitors- this is the first that has given me these sorts of issues. I'm not satisfied, and skeptical of the build quality of this particular monitor.
Uh, What?
Pros: For the guy that said this mouse doesn't compare to the D3ll mice shipped with prebuilt systems, he's dead wrong. The mouse with the pre-builts (I'm currently using one at work and have installed hundreds of the newest iterations) is the worst. The left and right mouse buttons stick if they even work, and the scroll wheel is super clunky. I think I'm getting carpel tunnel from the scroll wheel itself.
Cons: Carpel Tunnel (from the d3ll mouse).
Overall Review: If you don't have much money this is a great mouse. I bought one for my mother's build, and I'm buying the gigabyte mouse/keyboard combo to take to work with me. Smooth, slick hardened plastic, and the innards are solid and won't fall apart after continual use.
