perfect for my computing and gaming needs, but...
Pros: Good system for the money
Cons: The mouse is cheap, and the wheel is squeaking after a months use. My 2 year old monitor did not work. After calling tech support the first night, they wanted me to ship it to them. I found out the next day from a friend, all I needed was a $7 adapter plug.
Overall Review: I bought this in December, and I was supposed to get a $75 rebate from Asus. I printed out the rebate form, cut out barcodes that had the serial # and UPC, and attached them to the form as instructed. 6 weeks later I get an email saying rebate was declined. After a few emails, I received a copy of the documentation that I had sent in, and was told that I did not include the barcodes (yet they are viewable on the copy). I was told to cut them out again (how? they are cut out and mailed off) and resubmit. 2 phone calls to the rebate center later, I was told that the issue would be sent up the chain, and I would be notified in 4-6 days. I called them 8 days later to see the status. It was never elevated, just denied. Rebate center gave the same directions to resubmit...they can not process until I do. Again asked how, since I mailed UPC's to them in December. Finally was told to call Asus and ask for new barcodes. Asus told me there was nothing that they could do, and to call the rebate center. Called rebate center for the 4th or 5th time, and told them Asus could not help. Rebate center told me to look around the house, and resubmit when I find it...have a nice day "click" Yeah, it's a rant. 3 hours of phone time, and several emails for no rebate and a big runaround.
And it's dead...
Pros: It WAS a nice tv for it's price.
Cons: Lost the picture the other day. After all troubleshooting, and talking with a Samsung tech, I was told it needs to go to the shop. It is 16 months old, and the warranty expired after 12 months. Bare minimum to get this issue fixed is $200, and max could be $360.
Overall Review: Never again Samsung, never again...
