Great laptop, good price

Pros: Frankly, it's beautiful, and has amazing specs for its price. the screen is sharp, and clear. Everything runs great!

Cons: Implents UEFI boot tomfoolery. Frankly, for this it looses an egg because its the worst invention since the dawn of time. It can be disabled, but you pretty much have to be a power user to figure that out. After that wiping windows 8 and installing 7 went perfectly fine.

Graphic Artifacting

ASRock A75 PRO4-M FM1 AMD A75 (Hudson D3) USB 3.0 HDMI Micro ATX AMD Motherboard with UEFI BIOS
ASRock A75 PRO4-M FM1 AMD A75 (Hudson D3) USB 3.0 HDMI Micro ATX AMD Motherboard with UEFI BIOS

Pros: seems to be a decent enough deal, if your forunate enough to get a working one.

Cons: As near as I can guess, there was a faulty northbridge processor or a memory controler on the board. From second one I started getting graphical artifacts even from as early on as booting. Obviously the problem wasn't with windows install. computer was operable, but would continually crash without warning, sometimes to a total reboot, other times to graphical artifacting and total freeze up. RMA's it, and ordered a Biostar board for 20$ more. Worked fine first try.

Overall Review: spend the extra 20$, buy a better board. It will cost less in the long run. I lost 1 1/2 weeks of time, and a lot of pain, totally NOT WORTH IT.

Worked great for 1.5 years

MyDigitalSSD 128GB Super Cache 2 42mm SATA III (6G) M.2 2242 NGFF SSD with FNet HybriDisk Cache Software - MDM242-SC2-128
MyDigitalSSD 128GB Super Cache 2 42mm SATA III (6G) M.2 2242 NGFF SSD with FNet HybriDisk Cache Software - MDM242-SC2-128

Pros: Fast, was a good drive when it was alive

Cons: It suddenly decided to take a dive after 1.5 years. I treated it fairly nice, and it ran as a second drive with Linux Mint in a lenovo y510p. I used it about 50% of the time, going back and forth between Linux and windows on that machine. It suddenly decided to die, and I lost everything on that drive.

Overall Review: Not recommended.

Rapid Rapid Death

SanDisk ReadyCache SDSSDRC-032G-G26 2.5" 32GB SATA III for Windows 7 and Windows 8 -based PCs
SanDisk ReadyCache SDSSDRC-032G-G26 2.5" 32GB SATA III for Windows 7 and Windows 8 -based PCs

Pros: Good price, good form factor for light-weight laptop extension

Cons: Made of fail. Tried to install linux on it repeatedly. took a bunch of tries to get it to register properly, then it died, and I couldn't even get windows to recognize its existence.

Overall Review: RMAd it, we'll see if the new one works, but now I've spent an additional $10 to rma this thing, so I might as well have bought a more thuroughly reviewed 64 GB device.

Great HDD

Seagate Desktop HDD ST1000DM003 1TB 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: Very fast, only slightly slower than my SATA II ssd, which is still pretty blindingly fast. Extremely quiet.

Cons: well, its quiet until you really spin it up, and it gets only slightly less quiet.

Overall Review: great buy for the price.
