TERK AM/FM+ Stereo Antenna with Gamma Loop Technology
TERK AM/FM+ Stereo Antenna with Gamma Loop Technology

Pros: Small size and thin profile.

Cons: This antenna is disappointing. Its small size, which is what drew me to it in the first place, is actually the source of its greatest weakness, namely, its extreme suceptibility to FM nulls (dead spots in the room). The instruction sheet does mention that one should move it around to find a sweet spot, but does not address the fact that its location can be so critical. I live in an urban, high-signal area but the antenna is barely adequate in even its best locations. What's frustrating is that a sweet spot for one station does not necessarily work for another. So, I often have to relocate the antenna when changing stations. I found that a cheap rabbit ear antenna is more sensitive to weak signals, and isn't so prone to nulls. The AM antenna works properly only if I leave its "ground" wire disconnected. A simple 5-6-ft-long wire actually works better.
