Best SSD on the Market
Pros: Installed on a 2011 Mac Mini(higher end model with the AMD graphics) running OSX Mavericks and it SCREAMS. It was an upgrade from a Intel X-25M 120GB SSD, which was old but plenty fast. But this 530 series is an extremely noticeable difference. -Came with the updated DC12 firmware already installed(saves me a little bit of trouble updating on a Mac with no optical drive) -On the Blackmagic Disc Speed Test app, I was getting write speeds of 312Mbps, and read speeds of 478mbps -Boot and shutdown take about 10 seconds or less, and anything I open is pretty much instantaneous. -Top notch Intel reliability and support on top of a 5 year warranty
Cons: Absolutely none!!!
Overall Review: I know Samsung SSD's are pretty good drives, but if you want the best, go with Intel. You get what you pay for.
So far, not impressed!!
Pros: I feel in very good hands dealing with Newegg. They are great!! It's good to have that 'peace of mind' when you are spending this kind of money!! And I love the feedback that everyone leaves here!! Ok, the world is not perfect, so every once in a while, you are going to get a defective product. In this case, the dual 6 pin I recieved was terrible. This is the first ATI card I've ever purchased. Im all excited about a future crossfire setup and you cant beat the XFX warranty, but this thing ran awful!! I RMA'ed this one and figured I would give em one more shot before I switch back to Nvidia. Im going with a EVGA GTX 275 if I get the same reults again with the replacement. If Im not let down, I will give some more feedback.
Cons: I wrote a review in favor of the whole 6/6 pin config just a few days ago before testing, and now Im eating those words. I recieved the dual 6 pin, which happens to be the new revision again. It performed awful, the one I recieved anyway. My PNY 9800GTX+ ran games FAR better and it only had half of the memory this one does!! On top of that, it slowed my Windows 7 64 bit down in every basic way too. Strange 'screen flickers' even when I just simply log in and out. Cant put my computer to sleep. Tried using older drivers from the current 9.9 CCC with only disasterous results!! My frame rates with GTA 4 was 15 fps!! When playing, is was like watching a slide show from all the lag. Im just being specific for all those who might get this card and wondering why it feels like a downgrade when you bought for a performance increase. I almost forgot to mention that I had plenty of lock-ups with blue screens of death forcing me to hit the restart switch.. Extremely Disappointed!!!
Overall Review: My computer is more than worthy to run TWO of these cards, so I know there is nothing that I have that could bottle-neck this card!! AMD Phenom II [email protected] Gigabyte MA790X-UD4P Crossfore Motherboard 4 GB's of Kingston HyperX 1066 RAM 750 Watt Antec Truepower SLI 80+ Certified CoolerMaster 690 Case Two SATA Hard Dives @3 GB's per sec.
Pretty Nice!!
Pros: Thin, great picture, color right out of the box, low power consumption, large screen(obviously). Never been a huge fan of HP computers, but they really do make an excellent monitor!! Got this baby on sale for $279.
Cons: Looking at it straight on is perfect, but from other angles, it puts off a high glossy blur...best way I can describe it. As others have said, this screen is highly reflective, as I have a sliding glass door right behind my computer desk.
Overall Review: Have this hooked up to my mid 2011 Mac Mini via HDMI, and this monitor was recognized immediately. Despite the cons, this is an excellent monitor, and would have been content if I paid full retail. There's not a lot of bells and whistles, but it is definitely worth the money, especially what I paid for it. Definitely the best in this price range.
Waiting for replacement
Pros: Bought this for my 2011 Mac Mini, and was surprised to see it not boot up until I put my factory modules back in. Not the end of the world, and Kingston is still the best brand in my opinion.
Cons: Docked one egg for the inconvenience of the RMA.
Overall Review: Installed my second gen Intel SSD in my Mac Mini and it screams. When the replacement comes to upgrade it to 8 gb's, I should be fairly future-proof for a while...at least in the world of Mac. I will update if there is problems with the next set.
PERFECT!!!
Pros: Well packaged, looks pretty and is extremely fast!!! Got this baby for $15 with free shipping!! Setup couldnt have been easier since the software is built in to the device itself. Got this for my daughters 5 year old Dell desktop that runs Windows XP, did a speedtest and was getting 16-20 mbps. Couldnt be happier!!
Cons: Absolutely none!!
Overall Review: The negative reviews on here crack me up!! Not that Linksys isnt impervious to having a bad egg come off the product line every once in a while, but honestly, I would say 98% of the negative reviews are due to their own software conflicts, router, or the PC itself.
Simply The Best!!
Pros: Made my jaw drop when Windows 7 took 9 minutes and 38 seconds to install. Takes 10 seconds to restart the computer. Clicking on nearly any program is pretty much instant(even right after system reboot). Very easy to install. My Asus motherboard recognized the drive with no problems. Has a three year warranty and Intel is a great company that will stand by thier product in the unlikely event that anything goes wrong. A friemd of mine recently bought a brand new $1,600 Core I7 950 gaming system from CyberpowerPC with two of the new SATA-3 Hard Dives(640 GB Each) in a raid-0 configuration...His Asus Sabertooth motherboard is SATA-3 ready...I checked. My Intel 120GB SSD out performs his setup very noticably without breaking a sweat!! Thought that was interesting!! My System: -AMD Phenom II 940 X4 Black Edition @ 3.5ghz. -2 Radeon 4890's in Crossfire -Asus M4A79T Deluxe Motherboard (790FX Chipset) -Intel X25-M 120 GB SSD -Kingston HyperX 1066 DDR2 -Antec 750 Watt
Cons: Absolutely none so far!!
Overall Review: If you are new to the SSD world like I am, then download the "Intel Solid State Drive Toolbox". Windows 7 has built in features that are good for SSD drives, but this Intel software will check your system configuration and tune it's settings for the best performance, edurance and power efficiency. Im sure the advanced user can adjust everything themselves if they wanted to. But the Intel Toolbox makes it easy for Noobs like myself..lol!! Another thing I wanted to mention is that this 120 GB drive is one of thier newest models, so there is no firmware update available...I confirmed this by calling Intel Technical Support, good news is that there is no need for a firmware update cause I have found zero issues in speed/performance and stability.
