Pros: Provides a fast internet connection beyond the reach of WiFi
Very easy setup and installation
Very reliable 99% of the time (see cons)

Cons: Has briefly lost connectivity five or six times in the nine months I've been using the product
In those instances, the adapter on the receiving end had limited space to allow for cooling (pillow or some other object blocking it) and the adapter was hot to the touch. The adapters have vents on both sides and a clearance of approximately 8-12" around the adapter for air flow is highly recommended.

Other Thoughts: Overall, I highly recommend this product.

In my situation, I have a 2200 square foot home and my DSL modem/router is located (viewed from the front) on the far left side, in the front room. My basement is also finished, including a bedroom in the far right side, back of the house (as far away from the router as possible). There is also a stairwell surrounded by two large mechanical 'closets' to house the water heater and furnace. In addition to being one story under the router, there are significant obstacles to any WiFi signal due to the structure and equipment. The best WiFi signal I could get in the basement room was two out of five bars, often only one bar and at times WiFi connection at all. On the opposite side of the stairwell/mechanical equipment, I get a reliable four or five out of five bars.

In my situation, this was the perfect solution. I only have 100Mbps capability due to my semi-rural location (and inferior ISP), but this product consistently provides a connection at that speed.

Pros: -Scans are fast and high quality
-A single USB cord handles data transfer AND power
-Very useful image correction features (gutter shadow correction, dust and scratch reduction, etc.)
-Very quiet compared to other scanners (I use it in the library)
-At 3.6lbs and 1.6" thick, it's a great laptop companion
-Energy use is only 2.5W (1.4W standby) and it only reduces my laptop's battery life by less than 5% when I have it connected.
-High-quality construction that should last for years.

Cons: After four months, I can't think of a single one!
