Nice Cheap Cool
Pros: Provides good heat loss for the price. Seems to be built solid and of good quality materials. Fan is relatively quiet.
Cons: Design puts lots of stress on somewhat flimsy securing mechanism. In AMD chip mount it will only mount up or down. Seems to move around quite a bit do to design but after the initial burn in phase it became very stable.
Overall Review: This is a great budget cooling solution. I would definately buy this again. I bought this to replace a much more expensive (albeit older) thermaltake unit and I am happy with the results. This is a huge unit. Barely fits inside my atx mid range tower case.
2700x Asus x370 Strix No Go.
Pros: Affordable. Overclocked easily. Looked great.
Cons: Unstable for my setup. Took me a while to discover it was these sticks.
Overall Review: I bought these 32gb sticks to replace a kit of 16gb ripjaws I bought at the height of the memory price hike. I did so on a specific review which stated it ran great on my exact system. At first they seemed to function great. Set the xmp and away I went. However, eventually my computer started behaving really strangely. Random BSOD, quitting games, failing stress tests, corrupted windows files etc. I even went as far as replacing my psu because a lot of the symptoms resembled a failing psu and of course the memory would pass long memtest runs and windows memory diagnostic passes. Eventually, after much wasted time and energy it dawned on me it had to be the ram. I set the ram to it's spec timings and I still had problems. Put my old sticks in and the problems disappeared. I can't say the sticks are faulty for sure (I believe they are though) because I could never get them to fail a memory test, only stress tests would fail occasionally. I did not run exhaustive tests however. One full pass of memtest which took 12 hours was the max. I have since bought a 32gb kit of gskill flarex and they are performing perfectly. I will say the old 16gb ripjaws kit I have are Samsung b-die. The flarex kit I'm now using is Samsung c-die. This kit was hynix. That may be an issue too for all I know. So in closing, these did not work for me. For reference my system is a 2700x on an Asus x370 strix gaming-i board.
Not Samsung B-die but still great.
Pros: Plug and play. Look great. Perform great. 32gb
Cons: The timings aren't amazing.
Overall Review: These are great sticks. I was having issues with a set of 32 gb gskill ripjaws so I purchased these. Complete difference in stability. They are stable enough to allow Asus TPU 2 to be set at maximum which I've never seen before, even with my stable 16gb sticks. They run cool, fast and stable. What more could I want. The pair I got were not B-die like the other reviewer got but it is c-die. As long as they perform I don't care.
Wow. This thing is sweet. Would be a 5 star if not for the cables.
Pros: Runs silently. Powers my system flawlessly. Looks top notch. Warranty is best in field. Comes with tons of extras including case badges...Yes! Rock solid at providing steady advertised voltage.
Cons: The plastic that wraps the cables seem really soft. Not quite as steady to the 12v as the silvertake but we'll within the margin of error.
Overall Review: As for the cables, I'm sure this is to help with installation but they looked second hand by the time I managed to wrangle them into my sugo sg13 case. Which is an admittedly tight fit. I actually needed to use the second GPU cable included because one got too close to a sharpish edge and exposed wiring. They are noticably flimsier than my previous silvertake tough power. I'm not sure if I just got a bad batch our if they are all l like that but it was the first time I was scared I would unknowingly short out my system. Having said that, the PSU is rock solid. I feel good knowing I have quality power going to my components. Well done Seasonic.
Great cooling at a great price.
Pros: Enabled my 2700x to perform at optimal boost. Dropped temps dramatically. Fans run noticably quieter overall. Granted me my highest score on cinebench r15 (nearly 875ish) and cinebench r20 (2200). User benchmark rated it performing at 104%. This with just pbo enabled and ram set too xfr settings. (A meh 3200 16181836)
Cons: Came a bit scuffed and blemished from the factory. The fan splitter they provide is extremely loose and most likely caused boot failures with the motherboard. Both initializing the GPU (no idea why) and CPU cooler fans.
Overall Review: As soon as I replaced the splitter with a quality Noctua splitter to connect and power my pair of 3000rpm Noctua industrial 120mm fans (push pull) the problems disappeared. Instantly dropped my temps from my aging cooler master Seidon (I had forced to fit with the am4 platform) 15c idle and 15/20c load. Admittedly I would have reapplied the cooler master because it was getting worse scores than I perviously had but not significant worse. i used the stock paste included on the pump copper just to see if it would stand up to the test. It did admirably, I choose to leave it despite having very high quality paste ready to go. Fit perfectly and looks good lit up in my sugo sg13. (Through the side vent holes haha) Overall my initial thoughts are you can't go wrong. Here's to hoping it lasts as long as my 5 year old cooler master.
Rock Solid
Pros: Like title states, this PSU is steady as she goes. I recorded the voltages and what little variances there were in a 24 hour time period were well within the norms on all the readouts. A few didn't even budge a fraction. Performs silently under full load 100 watts from capacity. Cables were well made, almost too long, total blackout which is nice. The layout of the modular connectors on the backside of the psu is well organized and well thought out. The footprint is not overly large, unlike my cooler master silent pro m2 which blocks a lower fan intake.
Cons: Presentation. Presentation. Presentation. This PSU is ugly. Mine came with a slightly crooked side sticker which I happily removed because I couldn't stand looking at the thing anyway through my case window. Those fonts and color scheme....shutter. Just pathetic. Come on Thermaltake. Pay a designer to get these on par with the field. I would do it for free if it meant I could get a sticker that actually made me want to look at it. I bet you would sell more units too. The 24pin connector was a royal pain to connect. I'm not sure if I managed to connect it all the way or not but I didn't want to break my motherboard in half so I called it good. My Cooler Master was not nearly as difficult.
Overall Review: If you don't mind how it looks and only care about performance this PSU is for you. Admittedly it is a bit of a eye sore but it does what it is supposed to do.
