I BOUGHT TWO !! WOW II
Pros: FIRST BUY ONE BEFORE THEY ARE GONE. Silver is better to offset the seriously bright and fantastic displays. NO DEAD PIXELS in either yet? Bright screens whether RGB/D-Sub or Digital/DVI-D. NO BLACKNESS at the top of the screen like other monitors I have used. 1440 X 900 resolution works very well for "net" use when surfing with a wide screen monitor.
Cons: Connections are tight to the case and the base is flimsy so take your time setting these monitors up. Don't remove the screen clear protective sheet until you are ready to power-up. I have both running as separate desktops within three feet of my face, angle viewing could be a problem for some, hint 150 degrees height, 135 degrees vertical.
Overall Review: TECHY stuff, I'm running a NVIDIA GEFORCE FX5500 256mb card PCI, not PCIx16 (real NVIDIA too!) One is setup digital, the other connects RGB. AMD athlon thunderbird 1.2 ghz via a MSI motherboard (1.5 gig of PC133 SDRAM). The owner of the PC has promised me their FIRST BORN and anything else I might WANT!!
NEVER WORKED ??
Pros: NONE
Cons: I will avoid SAMSUNG
Overall Review: Brand new, flawless /packaging/box. I move the furniture/ Sony electronics. Then I power the Samsung 51 inch plasma up with only cable and power and the it does not work. All I hear is a whining noise!! I re-connect my OLD Sony with only power and cable --- PERFECT. The HEAVY non-working SAmsung goes back to WALLY MART tomorrow.
4 MONTHS OF USE
Pros: Used this unit or the 205W widescreen model at Myrtle Beach, SC, Miami, Fl, And for a trip to Dallas, TX. IT WILL GET YOU THERE !! I missed a few turns at times at night in Atlanta and Texas but it recalculated and got me there! I used printed trip maps before the trips to track its progress. The free downloads, vehicles, updates, and voices were easy via Garmins web site/USB cable. If you are comfortable using a PC, you will learn these quickly, I never looked at the owners manual .
Cons: No USB cable included at the cheap price but bought the generic version for 4 dollars shipped. The additional voice comments can be annoying but slightly, I did download the Nightmare voice for free which was amusing. FACTORY SET To find SHORTEST ROUTE, CHANGE IT TO FASTEST ROUTE IMMEDIATELY !! No Home charger, only the car charger, a generic USB cable is required for downloads and PC charging at home.
Overall Review: For simple inexpensive navigation worth every penny. We now have four and keep them on around home to play and learn there pecularities. Be sure of your address destination, ZIP CODE is a must to avoid duplicate named addresses in the vicinity of your destination.
I own the 205W and the 205
Pros: I have used a professional model off road at work for five years, it is a GARMIN too! The 205 and 205W are easy to use, never opened the included owners manual. Loud voice, WIDESCREEN, and easy and interesting downloads via DSL or CABLE net services. CHEAP to PURCHASE computer POWER/USB connector aftermarket. Quality build not flimsy. Fast satellite find, even reasonable inside a buidling. In five vehicles I was able to angle the units for optimum visability.
Cons: No traffic or lane choice ability, but less can be a good thing. I dislike the power connector location, should be on the edge. The 205 and 205W are specifically designed for vehicle use.
Overall Review: It took a day or so for the windshield mount to stay strongly put, newness had to wear off. Use the ZOOM + or - feature, it will show you less or more detail as needed, a major reason to buy the WIDESCREEN 205W.
Owned TWO for THREE YEARS
Pros: Durability and price, sharpness of screen and NO DEAD PIXELS after three years of use. RGB and Digital cables.
Cons: Somewhat flimsy mounts
Overall Review: I paid very close to 200 dollars a piece for two of these monitors from NEWEGG almost three years ago. I use a 256mb dual monitor INVIDIA graphics card. The monitors and card have run flawlessly for almost three years and I switch between which is the MAIN monitor regularly. ONLY DELL AND SAMSUNG have anything comparable, of course they cost twice the price too.
Actually Works Reasonably
Pros: Great for KA band and X band which are common radar rural police equipment. SUCTION CUPS ARE DURABLE AND STRONG. Stands up to intense heat in the summer. It does work and for the small price give your first radar detector a try!
Cons: Glue the mount to the detector it gets loose, but the suction cups stay strong even in the heat. X Band false alarms are irritating in the CITY, primarily a HIGHWAY detector.
Overall Review: POP radar is just what it says, much like instant-on you are busted period, slamming on brakes makes law officers mad too. You will get a ticket when the officer sees the radar detector that he already knows you have!
