"Good Deal" update

Pros: NA
Cons: NA
Overall Review: Just one thing I wanted to add to help out ... I removed the stock HDD and put in an Intel SSD with Windows 8 release preview and the Wifi drivers included with Windows are bugged. It will tax your CPU at 50% at idle no matter what you do. Download the Toshiba drivers from their support page. Fixes the issue.

Pros: Inexpensive for feature set Good sound for onboard chip. Ethernet is fast and all usb/sata/optical function correctly.
Cons: Bios is a bit sluggish and quirky. They don't go out of their way in the bios or manual to make inexperienced overclockers understand what settings are for at all. Some of the descriptions might as well have been written in hieroglyphics. When I got my system ready to fire up, it wouldn't even spin the fans. I got a couple of blinks out of my keyboard and that was it. After installing only 1 memory module and removing the CMOS battery for 20 mins or so, it finally booted ,but would restart 3-4 times consecutively and reset memory settings to default. Every time I shut down and restarted it did this. It absolutely refused to even start up and attempt to boot with a memory stick in the 3 or 4 slot. After powering down and attempting to reset the CMOS with the jumper, it would start up just touching the jumper to the pins. I almost RMA'd this thing assuming there was a short in the board or a bad power circuit/VR/cpu socket ..whatever. I'm not into flashing brand new boards , but I decided to try it rather than wait for a replacement. After a flash,CMOS reset and reboot all was perfect.
Overall Review: After getting that corrupt bios situation straightened out, this board is very decent. The drivers ECS supplies for the sound chip on their website make a faint tick every time you move the volume slider and feedback when the cpu is under load. I reverted to the default W7xp1 drivers and it's flawless. After enabling 80hz - 12db bass boost in "enhancement" sound settings it sounds really good for onboard sound .
Solid

Pros: Stock speeds are more than enough for the vast majority of gaming if not all current titles. Nice to not have bent pins to worry about with 1150 socket.
Cons: Stock fan is a bit skimpy but keeps it cool enough at stock speeds and voltages.
Overall Review: I don't get the complaints about the fan installation. It's like monkey level complexity. You push the plastic pins in with very little force and once they click, you twist till they stop about a quarter turn in the direction indicated by an arrow. It's not quantum physics. Also some people just get silly with their "trolling" attempts. 5C on an AMD FX8320 at idle?? For real man, do you realize that is 41 degrees Fahrenheit. I wouldn't wanna spend a night in your house.
"Not Bad" update

Pros: This is a follow up to the "Not Bad" review. So I got the card at 98% utilization for about 10 mins to see how high the temps would go. It settled at 80c which is pretty reasonable temps at full load. You don't even start paying attention on these chips till around 92c. I only have one 120mm exhaust fan on the case so I'm sold. Frame rates are within +/- 5fps of my buddies 7950boost on every game so far with identical processors and motherboard. Thrilled with this card so far.
Cons: nada
