Pros: in theory
Cons: -Lots of Updates
-Lots of Application Updates
-Lots of lost Data
Other Thoughts: -would not recommend
Device worked OK, when it works, I have put 2 different types of HD's in this machine and none have lasted 4 months. eventually the device shows no storage capacity and will not recognize the HD's when you remove the HD's they don't work anywhere else, so your data is lost. Then you format the drives and they work I stuck them in my old HP home server and they are up and working perfectly for over a year now. 2- WD Red 3TB HD's, and 2- Seagate 2TBNAS drives. all 4 drives have done this, but yet all 4 are in my HP server running strong! This device doesn't work well at all.. don't waste your money.
This review is from: Microsoft Windows 8 Professional Upgrade
Pros: the free upgrade to 8.1!! Well worth it to get to 8.1 which is a great operating system, with the ability to customize it. What my family loves about windows 8, the ability to keep the desktop clean but quickly access your apps. everything is stored in metro and kept off the screen.
Cons: again, waiting on some drivers and such, which most work now. Paying for these every other year! should be a buy 2 get 3rd free or something!!.. I also have a MAC, that update was $20!!
Other Thoughts: If you have a windows machine, windows 8 is a worthy update. YES it takes a little getting used to, but all the tools are still there. 8.1 put the windows button back, if you don't have it on your keyboard, also, right click it!! commonly used quick access items are right there!READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: Great little drive bay, can hold 2 SSD's in a standard drive bay. Appears to fit almost anything.
Cons: They set the drive bays directly on top of each other! Really.... You couldn't offset one drive from the other. If you've every worked on a computer you know that the Sata cables on Almost EVERY computer come out in a 90 degree angle, which in this case makes the second drive bay useless in this case. So if you want a single SSD drive bay, this is great!! Or buy another SATA cable that isn't a 90...
Other Thoughts: I expected more from Icy Dock...... Like a sata cable that wasn't a 90 to correct this issue,,, or offset the bottom side of the bracket, putting the extra space on the opposite side.READ FULL REVIEW
