Best netbook deal I found!

ASUS Eee PC 1201T-MU10-BK Black AMD Athlon Neo MV-40(1.60 GHz) 12.1" WXGA 2GB Memory 250GB HDD NetBook
ASUS Eee PC 1201T-MU10-BK Black AMD Athlon Neo MV-40(1.60 GHz) 12.1" WXGA 2GB Memory 250GB HDD NetBook

Pros: 2 gigs ram right out of the box. Beautiful screen! Netbook with a GPU! others with this are around $500. After over a week I love this thing. Very quick and small netbook. I installed xp and it runs it fast, boot up is only 45 seconds. I mostly wanted a netbook with a small GPU for light casual gaming and browsing while on the road. This system works well on Steam, I got running with no issues: Torchlight (didn't need netbook mode just turned down some), Plants vs zombies, Peggle, World of goo, Guild Wars, Star wars galaxies (low graphics setting), Gratuitous Space Battles. I used the driver disk that came with it to use the super hybrid system then placed it into high performance mode and it zooms. It's even faster then my 4 year old Gateway with a 300m.

Cons: Scratch and fingerprint magnet (no biggy to me), Keyboard moves in as I type (makes it look flimsy). Heat blows out the left side in high performance mode while gaming and most of us rest our left hands there. Could not get 1080p to run at all in xp but will run in full screen 720p just fine. Ill try 1080p later with Win7. Battery life is not great in performance mode but thats the price you pay on any portable system using a dedicated GPU. Had to change bios to Native-IDE before it would take any OS. Default kept telling me no HD was there during an ubuntu or xp install. No HDMI out but no biggy to me since I have a main system for that.

Overall Review: Only almost two hours in gaming on super performance mode while using battery power. With power saving mode on I got 3:30 hours. I can't wait to get win7 to see if its a little better in performance.

Most Critical Review

Nice buy but..

ASUS Laptop AMD A8-4500M 4GB Memory 500GB HDD AMD Radeon HD 7640G 15.6" Windows 8 64-Bit K55N-HA8123K
ASUS Laptop AMD A8-4500M 4GB Memory 500GB HDD AMD Radeon HD 7640G 15.6" Windows 8 64-Bit K55N-HA8123K

Pros: Sleek, chic-let style keys, nice screen, great for mid range gaming. It woked with team fortress 2 and left 4 dead 2 with no issues.

Cons: Flimsy cd tray, Shared video memory so get it to 8 gigs ram As soon as you can. No recover disks or a way to make them since the recover partition is removed. You even get a note explaining this so be noted that you might have to come up with your own OS later if the system fails.

Overall Review: I was looking at a $600 laptop with a GPU and glad i waited. This system holds its own just fine. It lost two eggs being your on your on with a recovering OS. This is one of the most critical things missed on today's pc market.

(Cool) card.

MSI GeForce GTS 450 (Fermi) 1GB GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 SLI Support Graphics Card N450GTS-M2D1GD5/OC
MSI GeForce GTS 450 (Fermi) 1GB GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 SLI Support Graphics Card N450GTS-M2D1GD5/OC

Pros: Nice software bundle, Very nice card for the money. This thing runs at 22c idle compared to the HD 4850 it replaced at 48c idle!! But i have a roomy case too. Performance is very nice. In L4D2 i get 80-85 fps and after i installed afterburner it got 90fps. In TF2 it bounced from 90-120fps with overclocking in afterburner. The hottest i seen this card get was 32c! yes i did turn up the fan a bit but not much. Uses so little power compared to that old 4850 beast.

Cons: When i got home from work it didn't have my dinner ready.

Overall Review: I got sick of my older 4850 running so dang hot and using too much power. I was deciding on a 430 gts at Best Bu... A big box store until i saw this for the same price with cool software. Was a no brainier after that.

No power hookup needed!

HIS H567Q512 Radeon HD 5670 (Redwood) IceQ 512MB 128-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card
HIS H567Q512 Radeon HD 5670 (Redwood) IceQ 512MB 128-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card

Pros: No Extra power leads needed off the PSU. Easy install not a surfboard size card. I got this card for a freinds system that i built so she can play med level games but it has no problem with any high end game as well. Tested L4D on all high settings and still ran at a decent FPS. Med settings gave around 59-60 FPS.

Cons: Runs a little warm. Keep that fan clean! No free cake.

Great for a Shuttle pc

Comments: I love this case! I needed something to take from home to work at the office and didnt want to dump $$ into a laptop that i cant upgrade that much later on so i went with this. It takes a little time making sure there is no wires in the way of your CPU and it feels like your working inside a honda engine but placing them cables and everything in a way for good airflow is worth it when your done. Don't be put off by its light and kinda flimsy design when you get it out of the box, once you have it loaded up its real solid. I love the Front Temperature Display and Removable Motherboard Tray, makes it nice to work on. I went and put in the AOpen s760GXm-S Socket 754 SiS 760 GX Micro ATX, with a AMD Athlon 64 2800+ (just ordered the 3700+ for it) and i like it so far. I only have one problem and thats getting the front pannel USB ports to work with the Mobo but i have a feeling thats more of a driver probem.
