Pros: Nice LED
Cons: -If your planning on OC your cpu expect your vcore to remain 100% even at idle..Even if you set power management mode to balanced, enable all the power saving features of haswell e in the bios; your cpu clock will downclock but your vcore will remain whatever you set it. For example my oc of 4.5ghz at 1.27 at idle downclocks to 1200mhz but the vcore is still at 1.27 when it should be 0.77.
Other Thoughts: The most primitive bios I've ever seen, mouse lags, you have to type in which llc setting you want, typing enabled in adaptive voltage locks the system in constant reboot. An MSI x99s sli plus is a better motherboard than this.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: MSI X99S SLI Plus LGA 2011-v3 Intel X99 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
Pros: -Decent board at a decent price,Works fine after updating bios to v1.9
-I like the MSI bios UI and I was able to oc my 5820k to 4.5ghz at 1.265v with turbo boost enabled so the cpu clock would idle at 1.9ghz when idle and boost to 4.5 when needed.
Cons: -For some reason the mouse wouldn't work when you first boot up the system. This happened with every msi board I owned; Msi z77 mpower and Msi x99s sli plus.
Other Thoughts: Nice board for the price and I don't need led or custom painted heatsinks on the southbridge.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: - +125mhz on the core and +500mhz the memory with no additional voltage from precision x. I dont think I reached the max oc potential of this card and I'm not planning to because it would throttle anyway.
- With a custom fan profile the cards temps can be manageable. Custom fan setting starting from 20% the card idles at 30-35c and max temps were 60-65c at 80% fan speed.
-Firestrike graphic score: 24, 265
-Love the look of the backplate
Cons: -In theory this card's boost clock should be 2100mhz, but with how the pascal architecture throttles at 50c; the boost clock is between 2088-2063mhz.
-There is a slight/barely visible scratch on the cooler, right next to the 1080 sc led logo.
-Had to blow of some residue, probably from the manufacturing process.
Other Thoughts: - I dont understand why custom cards these days the fans don't spin at idle. Without the fans spinning the card idled at 40-45c. Which can be fixed with a custom fan profile through Precision X because for some reason I couldn't set a custom fan curve with Msi afterburnerREAD FULL REVIEW
